Said this in other thread but a lot of booing from behind me from Hawk fans at the Marine being honored. Also throwing peanuts from top deck.

Section 12?Had one hawkette behind me that wasn't saying anything out of line. Just her voice was this shrieking shrill of a tone that physically hurt my ears every time she yelled "GO HAWKS! STOP THE CYCLONES!!!"
Call BS on thisSaid this in other thread but a lot of booing from behind me from Hawk fans at the Marine being honored. Also throwing peanuts from top deck.
My wife and I like this game the least because the fans are just stupid. I had parents of a girl in Iowa's band sit by me and they were nice. After the game we went to Outback in Ankeny and as we're leaving I held the door for some folks coming in and as they go in the dad yells go hawks at me - really!? Just kinda stupid.
How bout you go somewhere else if this bothers you so much. I'm not saying it was all Hawkeye fans doing this but it was a group of 3 behind me. I know there are moron Cyclone fans as well, but these 3 Hawk fans behind me were embarrassing themselves.A couple of posters making up some stuff in here. Namely the racist stuff, and booing the Marine.
It's a football game people. There was no audible booing for the Marine. And any racist comments by either fan base is an isolated incident.
Keep this crap on the politics board, where fantasy is accepted as fact to further a narrative.
I'm all for sportsmanship but high fiving for the other teams big plays seems a little silly to meSat in section 22 in the SEZ. Probably 6-10 Hawk fans around us. Guess how they acted?
Like they were guests in someone else's stadium. They were extremely polite, and classy. When ISU had big plays, they high fived Cyclone fans around us. When Iowa had big plays, we high fived them. They bought beers for ISU fans, and vice versa. It was a really great atmosphere. I was initially a little annoyed that some of our own had sold SEZ tickets to Iowa fans, but they were a great bunch of folks. We didn't have many discussions of how good of a season we were gonna have; there was no consoling or moral victories. We all just enjoyed the game together. It was neat as hell.
The worst fan I saw all day was a Cyclone in a paved lot just south of the student entrance. As we walked by, he gave the finger to some of his tailgating partners (Hawks and Clones alike,) threw his cooler into a wagon so hard it spilled water from the lid, and kicked the wagon before dragging it away in a huff. It was a tough loss, but dude...
