It might be a good thing getting some young blood in their to run the ball and try some different things to try and make this O-line more effective, or should I say, make this O-lines faults matter less.

Losing AP would hurt, but not as bad as other players that could be lost.

Disagree that losing their best player wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to them.

As someone else mentioned, the Packers barely beat Jacksonville, nowhere near as good as they were a few years ago. I expect Vikings fans will be taken back down to earth in the next few weeks.

Vikings do have a tough schedule moving forward:

@ Carolina
New York Giants
Houston
@ Philadelphia
@ Chicago
Detroit
@ Washington
Arizona
@ Detroit
Dallas
@ Jacksonville
Indianapolis
@ Green Bay
Chicago

Kind of nice to "only" need to go 9-5 in those games to duplicate last year's record now though.

Packers fan here.

Packers just aren't that good right now. The offense is out of sync and the line is really bad. That can all be fixed, but as of right now they don't look good and the Vike's are in the driver's seat for the division IMO. Bradford played great and Minnesota's defense was great.

That was a frustrating loss for the Packers. Still don't understand the decision to not take the FG earlier in the game and Rodgers and Co. still look out of sync like last year. I'll give the Vikings D and Bradford some credit though, they looked great tonight.

I think that some of the blame could be placed on Rodgers for audibling into a pass on 3rd and 1. Run twice there and they likely get the first down. As a Vikings fan, I am sad to see AP go down but the Vikings are very predictable when he is in the game.

Rodgers seems to be past his prime. Also, McCarthy's offense has gotten very very stale.

I'm definitely not writing off Rodgers yet, but he did not look like his normal self out there. He's lacking receiving options that can separate from a defender. Credit Zimmer though. He didn't let him get into any kind of groove last night. Minny's D was living in the backfield lest night which was all kinds of awesome. I thought GB should've hit a running back out of the backfield to slow down the rush, but that move never came.

I'm curious to see if they are going to designate a spy for Cam next week or if they are just going to bring pressure like they did last night. I'd like to see them get to him and rattle him early, but I have a feeling they are going to try to contain him and make him beat us with his arm.

Two years ago Brady had a bad game at KC and the media all declared he was done for. He then won a superbowl that year.

Rodgers has not had the best 2015 season and he looks average this year too so far. Hes gone 14 games in a row now where his QBR has been below 100. I don't think it's crazy to think we've seen the best of Rodgers in the past.

I know the Packers have a reputation for hating free agency but Rodgers needs some more weapons. Maybe a guy like DeSean Jackson who could be hitting the free agent market after this season.

Packers fan here. I'll be curious to see if Bradford can replicate his performance tonight. If he can, the vikings are title contenders. He looked better than Teddy Bridgewater ever has, his injury may end up being a blessing in disguise.

As for the packers, I think we will be fine. The vikings have an elite defense and it won them the game tonight. We played poorly on the road against a division rival in the first game in a brand new stadium and still came close to winning the game. I think the division is going to come down to Dec 24th in Lambeau. Should be a fun year in the NFC North!

Teddy's still a very young QB. I think with a few more years in the system the he could play as good as Bradford did last night. Diggs is just good, and if Treadwell ends up being the real deal as well, they will make any QB look good.

Sam is doing well so far. He needs to avoid his annual injury though.

Bradford made some great throws last night and played a pretty smart game. If the line can step their game up from "horrible" to just plain "bad" and keep him healthy, the defense is going to take the Vikings pretty far IMO.

Disclaimer: It's way, way, way, way too early to say this.

But what if Bradford continues playing like he did, leads the Vikings to a successful season, and Bridgewater makes a full recovery?

Bradford would be 29 years old with one year left on his contract entering 2017. Bridgewater? 24 years old, also with one year on his deal.

If the Vikings have two QBs with one year deals that are both starter-quality at that point, I don't think I'd see them stashing one of them on the bench and then letting him walk in free agency. I think they'd try to make a trade to get some value back. I'm assuming that it would be Bradford who goes, but depending on how well he does this year, that's not a total guarantee.

Good problem to (hopefully) have.

Bradfords injury history would lead me away from him. Assuming Teddy makes a full recovery, he's your guy.

Now if Bradford wins the Super Bowl this year, then everyone's head will explode.

Bradford played out of his mind compared to his expectations. PFF praised his performance. Him and Diggs can keep doing their thing for a long time, I won't mind.

Losing AP is bad, with some upside. McKinnon and Asiata aren't bad, they just aren't AP. Not having AP back there may actually have the side-effect of opening up the future run game rather than harming it, as it's already being limited by a combination of poor o-line play and and strong defensive keys onto AP. Not having him back there doesn't help the o-line push any, but it does change opposing defense strategies.

My opinion after last year was that the Vikings should part ways with AP. He's been a great player, but is far too limited in what kind of offense he's effective in. Not a ball catcher. Not a blocker. Not good out of the shotgun. He's fantastic when he's got a fullback, and can line up 7-8 yards deep, but that really makes the offense one dimensional, especially when the line is suspect. Asiata and McKinnon aren't nearly the running back that Peterson is, but they bring other skills to the game that AP doesn't possess. I'll be interested to see how it goes if AP misses time. I don't think it will be all bad.

I actually felt the same way -- last season, they could've still sold AP away for a good price and not felt too bad about it, in terms of team composition. While that potentially still could've happened after this season, too, that outlook isn't looking nearly as good anymore knowing that he could have a long-term injury.
