***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

These two statements best little relation to reality. Cine was hurt as he was working into the rotation in his third NFL game ever.

And Booth had spent little time in various camps and drills in the off-season and preseason because he was rehabbing from a senior injury. That was well known when he was drafted—and was a large part of the reason he fell to the second round. ‘22 was supposed to be a recovery and learning year for him in any case—and the question now is whether another injury will have set back that timetable.
Cine played 2 defensive snaps. Not sure that warrants working into the rotation. And as late as weeks 8 and 9 Booth was 100% and they opted for Evans ahead of him when Dantzler was out. And when he finally got his two starts, he had 87% of targets completed against him. That’s really bad. A small sample size and getting thrown in the fire, but it would be pretty hard to do much worse.
Like I said, it’s way too early to count these guys out, but they were off to a bad start.

How about this guy?

Yeah, the more I read about him, the more I like him.

“You won’t even recognize him in three years with how much his body will change when he’s on an NFL team. He’s going to be a lot thicker and stronger than what you see on tape right now.” -- Scouting director for AFC team

I find it fascinating that, despite the fact that you pull relatively obscure numbers from wherever, you absolutely ignore the simple fact of their injuries to justify your opinions.

Week 3 was the first week Cine had been healthy for a while—thus “working his way into the rotation”.

And Booth was just working his way back from missing most of the offseason when he was hurt again, during the first game.

But no, you go ahead and pretend that the only reason they didn’t play much is that they both suck, and Kwesi made horrible draft picks.

Here's another snippet on Carter:
"Carter will require time in an NFL strength program and needs to learn how to deal with extra attention from blockers, but he is an agile athlete with terrific length and effort, which is a great foundation for a developing pass rusher. He has down-the-road potential and will require a patient staff who can mold his game."

What about his bend?

I don't see elite high-end starter, but this guy has spot starter written all over him. His legs could make him really hard to prepare for if Kirk can't go for a week or so.

The word I've heard on Hall is that when he had a clean pocket, his performance was elite, like top 5 in the country. And he did it with a very young and inexperienced wr corps. But when he faced pressure, there was a big dropoff, which is expected with all quarterbacks, but his dropoff was larger than most.
I'm under no illusions that he's going to be the long term replacement for Cousins, but he has enough raw materials to be intriguing, and with some coaching, who knows?

Its a long shot, but I've seen lots of comparisons to Purdy and Russell Wilson. Very similar to both in college, although not quite as accurate (although still very good). He also improved a ton between his junior and senior season, so he probably has room to improve. Seems like he's highly intelligent, processes data well, anticipates throws and throws a great deep ball (like Wilson, not Purdy).

I have a feeling that the coaches will figure out if he's a future starter this year, even if he doesn't play much. I don't think the 49ers coaching staff were stunned by Purdy's success. They knew early that he was special and didn't flip out when the injuries began. I think the Vikings will know early too. If he's a stud, they won't worry about an early QB next year. If he's not, then they might use an early draft pick next year (if they decide not to extend Cousins, which is still possible).
