MLB: ***2024 Minnesota Twins***

4 game lead now...just keep the dubs coming. Don't have to be pretty just make the playoffs and see what our starting pitching can do.

A few schedule notes as we race to the finish. The Twins still have the following matchups:

KC: 3 games
Detroit: 6 games
CHW: 4 games
Oakland: 3 games
Colorado: 3 games

*Oak/Col are the last 6 games of the year. Sets up great if we're neck and neck with another team.
*Only 3 games left with the AL East (TB at home).

And another double play at bat for Correa with the bases loaded. Does he still lead the majors with this stat? Good grief.

Last two games with Royals hurt, they are awful and put up a ton of runs. Sorry, even as a KC fan, I’m pulling for the Twins at this point.

After the last 5 games, I'm on the sell bandwagon. I think they can replenish the farm system a little bit, still have a chance at the playoffs and be ready for next season.

Trade Gray and Maeda - Most likely to replenish the farm system a little.
Trade Larnach or Wallner (not both) - Find MLB ready RH bat for the OF. Lane Thomas or someone like that.
Trade Gallo - if anyone wants him
Trade Farmer - With Correa, Julien, Lewis, Polanco, Castro, he's kind of redundant and not mashing lefties like we'd want him to.
Possibly trade Michael Taylor - If you can get something good from a team wanting speed/defense
Possibly trade Donovan Solano - If you can get something good.
Possibly trade Pagan - if you get something good. Otherwise don't water down the bullpen.

Backfill the rotation with Keuchel, Varland and fill in with Simeon Woods-Richardson if needed. In a pinch, Dobnak hasn't been awful lately.

If you have a CF problem that you need to fill, call up Kiersey. I think he's rule V eligible anyway and he's doing great in AA. At a minimum you get defense and speed.

Call up Miranda to play 1B (especially if Gallo and Solano both get traded). Could probably do a 3 man rotation between Lewis, Polanco and Miranda at 1B/3B and see if Miranda can pick things up again.

I wouldn’t want to see the Twins trade Larnach or Wallner. Everybody else on your list is fair game. I would add Pagone as a definite trade piece and add SW-R to the ‘possibly’ trade list.

Depends on the return for Larnach or Wallner, but they just have so many LH corner OFs with limited upside. I'm not sure either Larnach or Wallner will pan out, although I'd rather hold onto Wallner.

With those 2, Kiriloff, plus Yunior Severino putting up monster numbers in AA, I think you can deal from depth. You also might need that spot for Brooks Lee, Royce Lewis or Austin Martin (if he bounces back). I think its a position of depth with a good chance that neither player pans out completely and you could be selling at their peak value.

While this Twins team is going nowhere and trades are the right move, I don't want this FO anywhere near the trade phoneline after the disaster that was last year (Mahle Trade, Paddock Trade, Lopez Trade). I simply don't trust them to properly evaluate incoming talent (or outgoing talent for that matter).

I think the Lopez trade was a good trade. They've got an awful good SP locked up through 2027. Losing Arraez hurts, but the emergence of Julien eases that pain. Not to mention that Lewis and Kiriloff look solid (if they stay healthy) and you've got Brooks Lee on the horizon.

I meant the other Lopez (Orioles). The Miami trade hopefully is a wash.
