Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. It is the Royals after all. I do like our starting pitching staff more than I think I've ever liked a Twins pitching staff. We don't really have an ace, but we do have a lot of No. 2 and 3 starters. I mean, when Kenta Maeda is your fifth starter, you can't be too bad. Then you had to send a sixth starter with a career ERA under 4 (it's 3.82, granted in only two seasons) down to the minors because you didn't have room for him.Another Twin Win!!!
Hopefully Pagone pitches in all of them.I just read in the next 19 games the Twins play, 10 of them are against Houston and the Yankees. That will be fun to watch.
Kepler always seems to start really slow. I thought with the rule change, no shifting allowed in the infield, it would open things up for him, because he seems to hit a lot of balls to the right side of the infield and I think it was even hampering his swing because he was too afraid to swing hard at some pitches when he saw all those infielders over on that side.Kepler needs to get it going if Polanco isn’t gonna be a factor this year
Glutton for punishment?Hopefully Pagone pitches in all of them.
Who doesn't love seeing 600 foot home runs?Glutton for punishment?
Our pitching will be an improvement but the big question will be how the two starters (Maeda and Mahle) come back from injuries. If Kepler continues to regress, hopefully Gallo makes up the difference. So far, the Twins have survived one Pagone sighting.Need a poll.
Are we actually good?
The Royals are terrible.
A little bit of both.
I'm excited to watch the back end of the starting rotation to see what these guys can put together. Would love to see Maeda back in form from 2020. the tail end of the relievers scares me quite a bit (ie the end of the game yesterday) but the front end seems to be pretty legit which is fun. Kiriloff come back and move Gallo to right and boot Kepler from the field? Would be nice if Kepler was a platoon guy vs everyday starter (know he plays a great center field as well).
D. Wait and see. The health of the rotation will be a worry all year and I don't trust this lineup yet. I wonder if Miranda will have a sophomore slump and god bless nick gordon but I don't know yet that he's an everyday player.Need a poll.
