MLB: ***2024 Minnesota Twins***

Nice home opener win. It feels like offensively they might be deeper this year even if not as potent, at least to start.

Per the Athletic:

The Twins will add a new player to the roster before Wednesday’s day game as prospect Edouard Julien is being called up from Triple-A St. Paul, according to a team source. The top-100 prospect impressed everyone in Twins camp and with his play for Team Canada at the WBC last month.

Any idea who's being sent down?

It looks like that are no more position players available on the 40 man roster. Might have to rush Polanco back sooner than planned. Maybe the backup catcher can play some left field or Sonny Gray can get his wish and get a chance to hit.

The injuries are unreal with this team. Buxton also got hurt on a collision. It’s probably not serious but I could see them resting him to be safe. They are running out of players.

Oof, yikes. Kepler can come of the list on Saturday. They might just go with an extra pitcher for a couple days. Probably depends on if Correa is ready to play. If not, they are really short handed and probably need to get an infielder who can play. Its entirely possible that someone on the 10/15 day DL heads to the 60 day if they've had a "setup". For some of those guys, that would mean they wouldn't be eligible until May 29th. Maybe Celestino goes on the 60 day.

If they are able to find room on the 40 man for a couple days, its probably Eliot Soto. An older guy who they wouldn't be devastated to lose if they had to take him off the 40 man. If they go OF, its probably LaMarre, Garlick or Contreras.

It's April 12th and we're already to this stage

Adding an extra pitcher is not allowed. The Twins already have 13 pitchers on the active roster which is the current maximum.

8-4 is still pretty good with all the shuffling. Maybe just forfeit the Yankees series to rest up? It will save us all the pain from the inevitable sweep.

11-2 final for the good guys. Ryan goes 7 innings throwing 92 pitches. In the past that would be the number of pitches for a Twins starter in 3 innings against the Yankees.
