The 2022 football schedule was released December 1st of 2021. Anyone have an idea when to expect one for 2023? I'm curious if the alternating home and aways are all mixed up with the additions to the conference. I assume they will be somewhat.

Everything I've seen/read from Yormark stated early December. So they either pushed it back for reasons unknown or him and I have different meanings of early December.

If OU and UT are really trying to bounce before the '24 season, then the Big 12 may have to go back to the drawing board on the '23 schedule for balance.

If that's the case, I'd make OU and UT play all 4 newcomers on the road in '23, give them 4 home games against current members, and they can play with themselves in Dallas.

According to the athletic, Big 12 bylaws require notification 18 months before a member institution leaves the conference. That would be December 31st for July 1, 2024 exit. If the rumors are true and they are thinking of leaving early, next year's schedule could be a bargaining tool for the conference???

It tells me that there is a real possibility that the teams participating in the Big 12 next season could be subject to change in the next couple months.

Anything is possible anymore but the SEC schedule has been out since September, where would they go?

I would love to see Texas here next November in another cold one.

I don't think the teams are changing. But if the Big12 knows UT & OU are leaving for 2024 season, it could impact next year's schedule. Either who teams play in 2023 (eg making sure Baylor, TCU and TCU all get a shot at Texas) or conference treats 2023 as a one-off schedule vs. original plan might have been 2023/2024 complimentary schedules.

The teams participating in 2023 won't change from the original plan. The teams participating in 2024 may change.
Yeah the most likely based on recent media is OuT leaving for SEC.

Other possibility, if the Pac12 has further defections it would be for 2024 season after GOR & current Pac12 TV deal ends

And really piss them off and not let them play the Red River.

Really?
Remember Texas Tech?
This is such a lame play.

Screw it. Do something different. Lottery balls every week to see who you play next week, with no repeats obviously. Do something crazy in the transition year. At least it would create some buzz.

LOL That really would piss them off. I wonder if there is a way for the schedule makers to do this if they stay full term.

It would be both petty and hilarious.
