***2023 PGA Tour Thread***

Imagine being one of the young guys that didn't jump to the LIV, seeing some of those LIV guys making 9 figures and being able to just come back to the PGA. If they don't get a FAT bonus out of this merger, they will deservedly be furious
Exactly what I was thinking as well - just like investing I suppose, it was high risk but high reward.

I have so many questions, first of which is how does Monahan stand in front of all the PGA guys who he rallied support from who passed up hundreds of millions and tell them those guys are coming back now? It also looks like the Saudi's have agreed to dump the money they were putting into LIV into this new entity, which makes the PGA's moral grandstanding pretty hypocritical.

But most importantly, why do I do with my Hyflyers gear? And has anyone done a welfare check on Brandl Chamblee?

there HAS to be some sort of increase in money for these guys, right?

Probably wearing gold chains and a diamond grill.

Very curious to hear some posters' response to this
I'm mixed. Much better for the overall game of golf having all the top guys on the same tour. But I was very anti LIV and feel that it's wrong the DJs/Koepkas/Mickelsons of the world essentially made 9 figures and will get to come back to the new tour for essentially no penalty.

From purely a golf standpoint, everyone playing on one main tour results in a better product. Never watched LIV, and really didn't have any interest in their "innovations". The funding source is still an issue, whether they are funding LIV or the new combined tour.

To be fair, the people that left took a risk, got paid, and basically forced the PGA to increase payouts for the people that stayed. All the players come out ahead in the end I'd say, just some more than others.

Chamblee has to be in absolute shambles.

Thought it was REALLY interesting the Monahan's statement mentioned team golf. Probably a mix of different formats on the new tour which is going to be good for variety.

Gonna be REAL awkward when Jim Nantz walks into that first meeting with the Saudis....

CBS & Paramount owns a percentage of the CW Network that has LIV Golf.

This is kind of where I'm at. It's a good thing for the viewers, and I'm glad the Ryder Cup can remain normal. At the end of the day I'm glad to see the best players play full fields. But the Phil Mickelson self-righteous tour is going to make me want to vomit. At the end of the day these dudes took a check, which I understand completely. But them acting vindicated is going to be annoying.

But that concern will disappear completely from anyone involved now that they're all in on the take.
