2 of those jobs are better than Wichita State. With how lifeless AAC basketball is almost feel like WSU really just aint that interesting of a job anymore

WSU's step-up to AAC may not be the boon that was expected.

Or maybe it will be a 50-50 tradeoff with AAC's defections to Big 12 ... but at best, it's just a "new MVC" situation.

Where would memphis go?
Anywhere that would take them, honestly. I would imagine they're hoping the PAC blows up enough that they end up part of whatever that new group becomes.

They've got to kind of be panicking that not even all that FedEx money could get them out of the AAC.

He signed a “long term” extension last spring (no details released), and I’m not sure being 2nd fiddle to football at ND is a better gig than being the man at Creighton.

Thanks for info.

Yeah, seems like he has a good situation currently vs. what could be at ND, unless the perks/$ is significantly better. Maybe if he wants to "step up" at some point it probably would make more sense to a mainly-basketball school.

That makes sense for Iona, as IMO the guy has shown he can flat out coach; not just because he beat a #1 seed, but he has a great record at the Division II level as well.

I can't help but feel a bit bad for FDU. They make huge waves nationally and then see their coach go off to brighter and better pastures. Such is life for the low-major schools in Division I basketball I suppose.

I read he was a finalist when Pitino got the job. So they knew of him. The same area of the country too.

Yeah, it stinks for schools like FDU, UMBC, and St Peters. They all lost their coach right away.

Those schools got what they hoped for. Notoriety, big paycheck and chance to upgrade. They know they can't keep a coach that has been paying his dues to move up.
A lot smarter than hiring a baby patino.

That and we all appreciate making McDoormat jokes, but don't you think Greg also learned a lot from his experience at Iowa State? He has a great great gig at Creighton where his style of play works with the style of players that come to Creighton. He left for an upgrade once- it didnt work out at all. I would be really surprised if McDermott elected to leave Creighton by his wish.
