***2023-24 NCAA FB coaching carousel***

Not only are they not that good. They’re not even good at all.

I’ve looked this up before, but their results considering their resources is pathetic (way worse than Texas). No conference championships since 1998, never won an NCAA title, below .500 bowl record overall, and fewer all sports NCAA championships than ISU. That school is, by far, the most overrated in the nation

They have resources, but have a lot of the same problems texas has with worse fans and boosters.

Stoops saw this and said 'nah'

ISU might have a fewer than ten donors personally backing the football program with the willingness and kind of money that can determine the program's future.

A&M probably has 100x that number. And most of them either hate each other or are crazy jealous of the others.

It's a terrible job outside of resources.

It probably doesn’t help that every decision they make is to spite Texas, or be better than Texas rather than just being a better program. They’re really in competition against Texas as opposed to their other competition in the SEC.

I don’t know their numbers, while they probably have a lot of rich donors, their top donors are probably way richer than our top donors; so you probably still have levels of influence. It’s just that they have a higher top level than we do.

Agree and that is the primary reason they left for the SEC and attempted to block UT from joining. Bad case of little bro syndrome as you suggest.

I’m still trying to reconcile how Stoops was completely unpalatable but Elko isn’t.

EDIT: Elko was a former A&M assistant I guess?
