2023-2024 Line Up

125 - I've been predicting KT hitting AA level for the last 2 years. He's had many quality wins that prove he can compete with the top guys. Last year he was ranked in the top 5 at one time. Just needs to stay healthy, stay committed, and let it fly. IF Perryman beats him out I'll be all in on him this year too.
133 - I hope your right. I haven't seen him. Can anyone address the rumor on flunking a drug test? (I read it on this board) IF it did happen does anyone know the standard penalty?
141 - This weight is stacked which is why I'd rank 125 as a "more likely to AA" weight. However, Zach will be a Jr with a lot of great experience and he's already showed development. IF he can hold the weight and continue to improve then he can earn himself a podium spot.
149 - We will see... Paniro did nothing but impress me last year (until the NCAA's). On the flip side Casey struggled and dealt with injury most of the year (until the NCAA's). They pretty much had the opposite seasons to each other. I do think 149 will be a better weight for Casey but I think Paniro is a step ahead and can be the Champ. Either way we will have a hammer at 149.
My advice is to write your predictions in pencil and not ink

There are way too many unknowns right now…

1. May have some off the mat issues. Besides some already rumored there is still 4 months before the first action. March lineup may be different than November.
2. Will ISU admissions accept AE? No reason to think they won’t but this is ISU. If admitted then I get the vibe there is a very high probability he will be in the lineup.
3. Some guys may decide to go down a weight after school/practice starts (i.e. Parker senior year).
4. Competition is at a high level at the first 5 weights. Until someone separates themselves then all of the weights are up for grabs. This is a good thing!

I don’t know the specifics on 133, but I don’t believe it was a failed drug test, but maybe got busted for possessing paraphernalia?

I am fairly confident at Swiderski or AE being the 149.

In Iowa Courts possession of controlled substance and paraphernalia

The charges are matters of public record. He has 2 pending charges. 1 for possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). The other is for possession of a controlled substance - marijuana 1st offense (serious misdemeanor).

Gotcha. I didn’t realize that.

Regardless, wouldn’t expect him to be sitting too long.

Just took a flight from Greenville, SC to Atlanta. I passed a guy in 1st class wearing an Iowa State shirt. I said, "All right, Iowa State". He smiled and said, "Go Cyclones.". That guy was David Carr, at least I was 98% sure it was David. It didn't hit me who he was until 5 seconds later and when I was long past him going to my seat.

Nate is at Davidson so maybe visiting though Charlotte airport closer. I didn't see him after I got off the plane. I wasn't going to be a schmuck and ask him about any differences he will do against O'Toole. I was going to ask him who we should expect to take the next big leap like Sam did at heavy last year. And was going to close it out by saying to kick Mizzou's ass for the team conference title.

Either 1 of 2 things. These kids getting paid isn’t good when they can’t handle the responsibility of money, or he’s taking bets on for multiple guys on the team through his account.

Paniro, a Big 12 Conference champion at 149 pounds last season, placed wagers totaling $45,640 on approximately 1,283 bets, according to the complaint.

My guess he was running it for multiple people. Just hope and pray it wasn’t on Iowa state wrestling and he fell in line and played ball with the investigation. If both of those happened best case is 1 year IMHO.
