Thought I had to pick one.He played starter minutes on a Sweet 16 team… but okay, I guess.
The others all bring something unique. We need a point, a shooter and a defender.
Not saying he is bad.

Grill is always going to be best off the bench. He's a spot up shooter, that has length and plays aggressive defense. 3 & D.He played starter minutes on a Sweet 16 team… but okay, I guess.
Grill. So leaving the freshmen out of it - which of Williams / Kalscheur / Green / Grill are not “starter level”?
You have a bizarre definition of “starter-level”, but whatever. I doubt TJ is recruiting over Grill.Grill.
Perhaps Gabe too is his offense is the same and depending on the starters around him. Which is true of many players.
Naz/Thomas/Morris all started some in 2013-14. Without being surrounded by Kane, Ejim, Georges, and Hogue, I don't think they were all starter level that year.
What is your definition? Just if they start on a Big 12 team? I doubt it. I am guessing you have a performance and role criteria. What the team needs from a starter has a big impact on whether a player is a sufficient starter level, do you disagree? You have a bizarre definition of “starter-level”, but whatever. I doubt TJ is recruiting over Grill.
I would hope he is.You have a bizarre definition of “starter-level”, but whatever. I doubt TJ is recruiting over Grill.
I would hope every player is being recruited over if that makes sense. I get that that's not possible, but if you aren't trying to find a better 6th/7th man every offseason I don't know if you're doing your job. It really doesn't have anything to do with that 6th/7th man, either.I would hope he is.
I mean, you're trying to get better. Next year, when signing seniors. That is going to push guys down in the rotation. Someone has to have a bizarre definition of recruiting over for that not to qualify as such.I would hope every player is being recruited over if that makes sense. It does and grill did nothing to suggest he was a slam dunk player deserving 25 mins+ a game anywayI would hope every player is being recruited over if that makes sense. SIAP: Holmes would be a nice 3rd guard to have with Williams and a combo in AJG. Although he is a little more similar to Gabe than I'd like, he is an instigator. I'd still put Council #1 on my wish list
I thought the same thing. A bit in just their look but also in how they finish from some crazy angles around the rim.He kind of reminds me of talen Horton tucker
I'll never understand college athletics. Hunter will transfer a full calendar year after King to a new school, and will play a whole semester earlier. How is this a thing?
You try to get better which means you even recruit over your best player if that talented of a player commits.I would hope every player is being recruited over if that makes sense. Tough to plan/project more than 2 years out now. If player doesn't see enough minutes, they transfer. If player blows up into all-conference, they transfer for $. Teams are almost on a two year cycle now. With losing Hunter, I think we’re prioritizing next year.
Go look over our rosters the last decade. It’s been tough to plan past two years for a while. It’s why the notion of a long rebuild is bad. TJ still surpassed that, but 2 years has been a long time for a decade. That’s 4 recruiting cycles.Tough to plan/project more than 2 years out now. If player doesn't see enough minutes, they transfer. If player blows up into all-conference, they transfer for $. Teams are almost on a two year cycle now.
I actually think that has always been the case. Talent acquisition is the number 1 objective, and TJ has a proven track record. Of course, this year he proved the value of coaching.Going forward it is imperative that the HC must be a helluva recruiter as well as a Coach. Recruiting is even more important now. TJ has a great reputation as a recruiter. He’s found some needed players on the Portal. AJ Green is an absolute must have. Add another PG or CG. Another big man. Pretty decent team.
