2021 NBA playoffs thread

He's almost as young as Tyrese.

With him, Giannis and Jokic carving it up I've been thinking greatest foreign players of all time. A lot of those lists have recency bias, but on that particular one it's just a fact that the best is right now. Dirk and Hakeem at the top (fun debate) but a ton of today's very young players right there already.

If you want to go old school Arvydas Sabonis Lithuanian but played for Russia back in the day, he was a amazing center. Wasn't able to play in the NBA until 1995 at the age of 30. His son is currently playing in the NBA. I'm not going to argue just putting a name out there.

His highlights from early pro career are pretty great. Sounds like it was kind of a mess for him to get in the NBA and it's too bad.

There are a ton of good foreign players right now, I think the recency bias is real and one reason for that is that the style of play in the NBA has never been better suited for foreign players. Don't get me wrong I love the NBA but it's a softer game that it was 20-30 years ago, that was a knock of some of the foreigners in the past, guys like Drazen Petrovic and Saruanas Marciulionis would have been perfect for todays game.

From what I heard about him before he got the league, he was a lot of Jokic. Love Dan Patrick's Sportscenter calls of his highlights "He's not your Vydas, he's not my Vydas, he's Arvydas"

I’m very ok with the Porzingis Doncic combo making their way through the playoffs.

I know that this Mavericks / Clippers game is a close one, but compared to the Nuggets / Blazers games this kind of sucks.
