2021 NBA playoffs thread

Who does everyone have for Denver/Phoenix series?
I think Ayton will be in foul trouble trying to stop Jokic. Booker may get his but so did Lillard. Paul will not significantly outplay (if at all) Campazzo/Monte. Gordon/Porter are better than anything Phoenix has at those positions.
It’s incredible what Denver is doing without 2 starters.

We'll see what Monte does (and how much) but Paul-Campazzo is a total mismatch.

I’ve been a LeBron guy for most of his career. Not saying he’s Jordan, not even saying he’s Kobe. But he is the all time great of this generation, and he’s handled the role of villain somewhat well. Not making excuses for his performance, but I’m convinced he’s playing injured.

All that said, several things set me off this year against him and the Lakers this year. First, the incessant whining about having to play in the play-in tournament. You know who whined about it? The people associated with the teams at risk for being the 7 and 8 seeds. You know who didn’t whine about it? Everyone else. It was a fantastic idea that I’m glad the NBA will be continuing, and I seriously doubt LeBron would have been against it if the Lakers were the prohibitive #1 seed.

Second thing that set me off was the ESPN talking heads crowning the Lakers as repeat champs even before the play in games started - as if no other team was even worth discussing.

Third thing that set me off was the same ESPN talking heads proclaiming “the NBA would be a better place if the Lakers and Knicks dominated the league”. You know, in reality, has anyone really cared that Spike Lee has had a sad face courtside for the last 25 years? And you know what turned me off from the NBA in the first place? The Lakers owning the league the way they did in the ‘00s. I get really tired of the “the remaining teams only purpose is to serve as fodder for New York and Los Angeles” that comes with the national media in regards to every sports league.

Getting pumped for the Bucks/Nets series. Seems like Milwaukee spent the season figuring things out, they got hot at the end and simply destroyed the Heat. I understand the Nets are incredible, but the Bucks are right there with them offensively, and a much better team on the other end. Will be interesting to see how the Nets intend to deal with Giannis.....he's really turning into a great all-around player. 15 assists in Game 4.

Re: #3 just sounds like wanting the markets. Just like the Jets get a ton of coverage in the mornings or how Duke still got a lot of time last season even though they sucked.

Lebron is an all time great but he just does some sh*t that creates the doubt and his demeanor is weird. Even with AD last night I didn't sense any urgency.

Jordan had issues but he was VERY good at the PR angle. Even though he might have bitched about the play in game internally, publicly it would have been 'this is where we are, and we just have to play through it' and that would be it.

I'm a bit annoyed that CP3 doesnt get his due credit for the season the Suns are having. They went from below average to the second best team in the league in a year. Booker is great but he's no different than he's been any other year. I feel like CP3 doesnt get much credit amongst casual fans period.

CP3 has the highest win % on the team this year.

I think a huge addition was Crowder. Dude is a grinder.

Monte has played pretty well vs Paul in the past.

I was just going to say this. Monte has had some great games against his mentor.

Hopefully Barton gets back this series, although I have my doubts. I also think Dozier would have matched up as well as anyone could with Booker.
