NFL: 2014 NFL Draft

I think the Chiefs are going to get a guard, WR or FS with their pick. Thankfully Kendrick Lewis is not back there anymore to take terrible angles at everything.

Looking at some news, it looks like the Vikings may be looking to beef up the D with the #8 pick. Not a horrible choice, as long as we do not reach for someone.

Been hearing possibly Johnny Football at #2 to the Rams. Maybe also, the Rams trading Bradford to the Vikings.

Vikings will be drafting a RB sometime this draft for a backup to AP.

Houston is trying hard to move out of the #1 spot.

Intriguing! I have full faith in Fisher and Snead to make some great picks. I still think the rams pick Robinson at 2 and Dix at 13.

Wouldn't mind seeing Manziel wearing the horns this fall! Trading for Bradford would be a great move by Minnesota as well.

Who at 8 that could realistically be there wouldn't be a reach is my question. Who does everyone like at that pick?

Aaron Donal is a DT who is very good, but the Vikings really don't have a big need there. Mack will be gone. I saw Barr a lot earlier in the process, but it looks like he is a 3-4 backer and not going to go that high. There aren't any elite CBs this year. 2nd tier DEs are in my opinion on of the positions that bust the most for being top 10 picks.

The Vikings will do everything they can to trade down unless Mack or Bridgewater fall to them IMO.

The Colts have a whopping five picks in this draft and don't have their first pick until #59. I'm already bored.

Man, I feel for you there. How are you feeling about the TRich trade?

Meh. They overpaid, but I see what they were trying to do. Grigson felt like he had a Super Bowl contender with a legit RB, his best two were out for the season (nobody knew Donald Brown would have the season he did), and he swung for the fences and missed. **** happens.
That said, I haven't completely given up on Richardson. I'll allow that he has looked very average to below average so far, but consider the circumstances. He's had three different offensive coordinators and systems in two full seasons, he came on board in the middle of the season last year, and he stacked up respectable numbers his rookie season playing mostly against eight and nine man fronts. That said, this is his make or break season. I don't think he'll ever justify being picked third overall, but there's still a chance he becomes a productive back. Last chance, though.

Bridgewater will DEFINITELY be there at 8 for them. A lot of experts now think Bridgewater maybe doesn't go in the 1st round anymore.

I think the Vikes will have their choice between Bortles and Bridgewater at 8. However, if what someone else on here reported is true, and the Rams are thinking about trading Bradford to the Vikes, I would do that in a second if I were the Vikes. I think Bradford is better than any of the QBs in this draft.

It's crazy just how average he has looked compared to how big a of a can't miss prospect he is.

I'm not 100% sure that the Bridgewater hate is all that real. It's very possible to me that a few teams really want him and are sending out smokescreens. All of the hate he has received has to do with peripheral BS.

His legs are too skinny. He is too shy. What else is wrong with him? Just a bunch of people saying stuff like "Sources have told me that Teddy Bridgewater is not a franchise type guy and that NFL teams have never been that impressed with him. They don't see him as the top QB."

Nobody ever mentions why, and if they do all they point to is him being skinny and shy. His tape is by far the best tape in the draft and it isn't close. His anticipation is good. He has good but not elite arm strength. He has elite accuracy. He is tall enough. His hands are fine compared to the other QBs in the draft, and are at least adequate size wise. He can throw into windows. He doesn't rely on his legs, but does move in the pocket and he can throw on the run at an elite level. He's a great leader. He's super coachable and has no ego. That's enough for me.

That's my rant haha.

Not sure how real the Bradford thing is. Just saw a Tweet that said sources believe they have talked but they are far from anything right now. Could all just be smoke. Who knows. And I would think Bridgewater will be there at 8 for sure. I could even see him going second round. Should have worn that glove in pro day...

He would have been better off not doing his pro day. It was just horrible. He was just throwing balls to wide open WRs and couldn't hit any of them. It was pretty bad.

Come to find out that he normally throws with a glove on, and for his pro day he decided to throw without one, I guess to show that he could? Well, it didn't go well at all.

Combine his pro day with the doubts already about how skinny he is, and he's been dropping like a rock. Whether he should be or not is debatable, but the fact is that he is. And then Bortles comes out and looks impressive in his pro day. So that just muddled things up even more.

But I think you are correct, that these teams should go more by how they performed in games than they did in shorts and a t-shirt in their pro day. But this is the NFL. They do some stupid things.

I don't know much about the Browns but I feel like they should use their picks on other positions and try to. build up a team instead of picking a QB every other year and hoping he saves a desperate franchise.

Also, picking a running back 3rd overall was a bone head move.

That's the thing. We usually take a QB who is a mid to late round QB or even second round. We've only had 3 first round picks for QB since we came back into the league. 1999 - Tim Couch #1 overall. 2007-Brady Quinn #22 overall. 2012 - Brandon Weeden #22 overall.

The rest of our picks the last 8 years have actually been quite awesome (except T-Rich) and we've built a team now. Like legit, we have a top 5 defense that no one talked about because our offense sucked. This is the year we take the chance to get our QB that can start right away and take us to the promise land. We're not good a developing QB's. We just aren't. Why not get one that has the most talent out of all of them?

The Vikings can never have enough qbs. What a mess.

Vikings might get Bridgewater.

The Bradford speculation definitely makes things more interesting for the Vikes. It wouldn't really be an exciting transaction, but I would feel better about him than I do about Bortles or Bridgewater.

I have no idea who the Steelers will take at 15. There's talk of Dennard from MSU, which would be pretty awesome. I don't know if the top corner falls that far though.

I also don't think they can get a real LT at 15 either. I wouldn't mind trading back to the 20s if there's someone that wants to trade up for a QB or something.

2nd round it will probably be best player available. I'd love it if they drafted an heir apparent to Big Ben this year. Someone with real talent that can actually be a starter in a few years.

Steelers will take a 3rd round WR again, who will be good in a year or two and then bolt in free agency.

Gotta think that Reid will want a QB project somewhere along the way. I don't know if Garropalo is Andy Reid's prototypical QB, but if he is then that would make some sense. The Chiefs don't have a great need at QB now, but if they can't get something worked out long term or if Smith stinks it up this year then they'd have a fallback option for next season.

I have a new wish list for the Rams.

Pick #2: Take Sammy Watkins. He's just too good to pass up.
I say this because the there are THREE instant starting offensive tackles projected in the top half of the first round, the Rams should take the best available tackle at #13. I really hope that Jake Matthews falls down the board and we can trade with the Vikings.
Pick #13: Take Taylor Lewan or trade up to pick Jake Matthews if he falls.

I still think the Rams will take Greg Robinson at 2 and Clinton-Dix at 13, but I love the thought of upgrading WR AND OL. Keep Bradford healthy a full year, give him a true #1 WR. We may be a better TEAM with an upgrade at Safety, but let's build for the future instead. Can't wait!

hiphop you a steelers fan as well?

Yessir, ever since Greg Lloyd and Kevin Greene started tearing it up in 94-95.

I still like a few of the regional teams, but Pittsburgh will always be tops for me.

I'm also a Red Wings fan too oddly enough. I still have my Sergei Fedorov jersey.
