2011 Offers Thread

Apparently we are in the lead for RB Robert Standard (St. Louis), who has offers from us and Nebraska, so my Husker friend tells me. Standard said that our facilities are about equal, which probably isn't quite accurate, but who the hell cares!!
 
I'm not too worried about the lack of commits to this point. I would guess the staff who got all but like 2 of the recruits who visited to commit last season has upped their target level. Which is shown by the competition we have for the recruits we're after.

As the Rhoads and some of the other coaches have said the hardest part about recruiting to ISU is getting the recruits to visit Ames and ISU. If we can get these guys to come and check out a game here we will be fine. I'll start worrying if we can't get any of our recruits to use their official visits to come to a game.

Yes.

Last year Jared Barnett 5/10
Year Before that Kyle Lichtenburg 5/5

Now, I will submit that those two were the only May commitments for their class, and we picked up the pace in June both years.

This thread looks dead, but Mike Blakely, the highest rated RB on our offer list narrowed his schools. We did not make the cut.
 
blythe signed with iowa. we have a very slim shot at french, but dont count on it. farniok is in love with wisconsin. only way we get him is if his brother talks him inti coming to ames. what about curt maggitt? he's getting offers from all the big florida schools, so i doubt we get him, BUT since his brother is a clone, we got a shot. him and his brother are very close from what i hear. getting maggit could be huge if he puts on some weight

The chances of us getting Curt Maggit are similar to the chances of me waking up laying next to Angelina Jolie tomorrow morning, maybe slightly better.
 
The first post is up to date with newest commits. We're probably around 25% done with this class since it's expected to be a smaller class. Boyd my guess fills the last LB spot. Knowing that we remain a Big 12 school is huge!
 
On his call in show the other night, coach mentioned 14 commits, yet I have only seen 13 listed. Are we missing one, or was he mistaken? He did qualify the comment by saying something like, "I think we are at 14 now."
