1460

I'll go on a long sports listening sprees in my office on days there are no meetings. I listen to Sirius XM usually. Morning Men are ok but when they bash players unfairly I change it. Adam Schein is the man, I listen to him most of the time. Stephen A has outrageous agendas and can really sound like a clown. Rome is usually pretty solid money. I'll go to the 1460 website if I'll listen to Chris/Murph and Andy. Only booger eaters like CloneNotReallyinWDSM, Rabbutt, CyCrapy, and CryRob enjoy that Morning Rush crapola. JT the Brick use to be good but he's sounding more washed up by the day. Big fan of him like 8 years ago.
Never change ChodeClone.

I made the list!

I listen on 1650 up here in CF. Love Listening to Pat Hughes call Cubs games.

Pat Hughes has always been great. Coomer on the other hand, not so much. It's not that he's awful (he is), it's that he needs to pipe down a lot more and let us listen to Pat. Santo didn't talk nearly as much as Coomer but he was also the perfect color commentary drunk guy.

Pat and Ron I always thought were a pretty brutal pair to listen to. Pat was decent, but Ron... man.

Just spit-balling here...

These radio threads always fascinate me, more because everybody wants different things when they consume any type of media.

Like on CF...half of you think I'm this Kool-Aid chugger. Then there is the "Williams isn't pro Iowa State" enough crowd.

Some people view sports radio as "straight x's & o's all the time." Others want flare, personality. Some like shock jocks. Others like intelligent sports conversation.

Everybody has their own taste. Some people like reading novels, some like non-fiction. Some enjoy vanilla ice cream. For others, chocolate is their jam.

It really is impossible to please everybody but dammit, I will keep trying!

Chris, I love the show and most of my buddys who listen to 1460 do too. You guys have great guests an inside information most of the shows won't and/or can't get. Like you having Phil Steele/Chip Brown etc. Ross is one of the few hawks I can stand. I like that the show stays faithful to college athletics for most of it and isn't afraid to cover auto racing, wrestling etc.

It sure sounds like some would be better off trying to do something else with their time. Everything in moderation...

I post this alot.. But try living in Western Iowa. It is all Husker talk... Des Moines sports talk radio is awesome!

Yeah, try listening to a 4 hour show that has 3+ guests on to talk Huskers. They have probably 4 different fan sites, plus the Omaha TV sportscasters, plus the OWH and Lincoln Journal Star writers. So there's a bunch of guests to choose from. Then they usually have some national or B1G guy come in and ask him Husker questions. It's just brutal. At least in BB season they expand to talk Creighton too, but still Husker football is the #1 show topic every. single. day. of. the. year.

They give elementary kids full internet privileges now?

What a time to be alive.

I dont think Coomer is a bad color, but they need to stop letting him do pxp in the 5th...it is absolutely horrible.

Thank you! We'll cover the pro sports, of course, but the goal of our show is to be very college athletics heavy. Big 12/Big 10 but even national topics. I think it fits well on KXNO too. FOX Sports Radio is so heavy in the NFL & NBA & what not. I think ESPN Radio does a much better job of covering the college game.

Say what you will, but Marty and Miller is the best local sports talk show this market has going right now. Any objective, unbiased listener from outside of central Iowa would say the same thing.

You guys are so savvy.

As for 1460, Chris and Ross are an upgrade, but I wouldn't want to "have a beer" with either. So when the banter starts, I change the station. But the sports talk is good enough to listen for 10-15 minutes.

This is no good. I was just telling my wife on Saturday about how I wanted to buy jahfg a stiff cocktail. Your loss buddy.

I kid. I kid. :spinny:

I don't know how serious he was, but if you guys can actually get the CFB Matrix guy to come on for a full hour every week, you should absolutely do that.

I'm sure I'm somewhat biased, but of all the local sports talk guys that you know where their allegiance lies (Iowa, Iowa State, pro sports, etc). Chris is easily the most objective. It's a tough balancing act, but he does it better than anyone. And, I like that - even though I'm a diehard ISU fan, I still like to hear the negatives about my team and the positives about the others...without the spin.

There - suck-up post finished.

As a subjective, biased listener in Central Iowa, I can tell you they are terrible. :jimlad:
