Not trying to debate this, in fact, don't want to. However, the fan base was divided enough that some former players (even pre-Dan) checked out of the program both fiscally and spiritually, along with some fans and boosters.

Which leads me to believe it won't be Stoops or Barnett. Too divisive. All a smokescreen to unite us under the new HC (insert name here). I am confident JP is going to come through on this. This hire is critical for his own career. Go Jaime! :wink:

I'd love to really know what that guy's source is before I start jumping up and down in jubilation. Until then it's just a rumor that's no better than when Cotlar said that Fulmer's interested in the job or Miller saying that Stoops was going to be our next head coach.

Although if true, I'll probably jump head-first into the nearest snow bank :yes:

If it ends up being Patterson, I really don't think ISU could have done better. Some will say Gill but I would rate Patterson as a more known quantity than Gill.

I'm keeping an excitment in check until I see an announcment by ISU or TCU.

I have no sources, at all, but I have seen a few posts saying that the coaching announcement is supposed to be coming next Wednesday (x-mas eve.), and I have seen many say that ISU has their man for the job, and are just waiting for the conclusion of his bowl game. With Patterson’s bowl game on Tuesday, a Wednesday announcement would make sense!

Patterson is my number one, and was my number one two years ago!

Im with you on this!! But did anybody else think maybe IaGrantCy has had it right all along today? TCU's game is on the 23rd...Would be a great Christmas present!!:yes::yes::yes:
 
I really never beleived the Stoops smokescreen... I mean, it would make ZERO sense... An average coach with a terrible personality that was one game away from being fired himself??? Factor in Pollard's comments about Auburn hiring a losing coach and it just doesn't add up...

Right. I don't know anybody I work with that bought into that one at all. It was total nonsense, I hope.
 
Pollard would have been the biggest hyopcrit in the world if he would have hired Stoops. Not to mention Marty is just trying to blow smoke up our butts with that nonsense anyway.
