    "The most open area against the Memphis defense is the deep seams. I expect Iowa State to utilize Butler in these areas extensively." The issue with that is, I don't recall us going deep very often, if at all, with Kempt at quarterback.

    RECRUITING: Iowa State hosting Tyler Harris this weekend

    I've given up on "should" when it comes to recruiting. Recruiting makes no sense to me. We have been to 6 straight dances, have a fanbase almost 2nd to none, great school, etc, and yet we keep missing on kids. Fred did too. Fred had tons of misses. And I never understood it.

    Since he is an "amateur", I am ok granting the full release. The minute schools are required to start paying the players though, then the LOI needs to be treated just like a pro contract or a contract you would find in the business world. Breaking it would have more serious consequences.

    Recruiting is a rough business. No wonder Fred disliked it. I couldn't do it. Put so much time and effort into a kid like Juiston. Prohm drives to see him immediately after winning in Lawrence. Then he makes a decision that makes absolutely no sense.

    I think Tinsley is actually underrated in a lot of Cyclone circles these days. Probably the "what have you done for me lately" phenomenon. Winning back to back regular season titles is very impressive. And he was the starting point guard on a good NBA playoff team as a rookie!
