    I seem to recall some friends going to see REM on the ISU campus back in the early/mid 80's before they hit the mainstream. I seem to recall that one of my friends said the stage was backlit for all/most of the concert, so you could only see their silouttes. No idea if that is true but reading...

    Who's car did not start today thanks to this extreme arctic cold?

    In 1996, the last time it got this cold, I was on my way back to Ames from West Des Moines. I was almost to the Saylorville bridge when I hit a patch of ice, lost control, and slid off the road sideways into a speed limit sign. The impact was just enough to dent the drivers door and shattered...

    Tell me about Clifford Kwaw-Mensah

    Watched him against Ankeny last night; he is not very big, but he looked crazy fast. He had an extra gear and would just blow past defenders. Ankeny kids could never get the right angle of pursuit, thus the 321 rushing yards by half. Will be interesting to see how he does against some better...

    Books that would be good movies

    I just finished a book a few weeks ago called Unbroken. Heard a movie is in progress...much like the Hunger Games Trilogy, the movie(s) will likely never live up to the book. Awesome read. Highly recommend it.
