Perkins Drew a foul, was supposed to go to the line but said something to a spectator and received a technical, that foul ended up being his 5th, so he fouled out. After Maryland shot the technical free throws, another player had to shoot for Perkins bc he had fouled out.

Almost right. It was a non-shooting foul and Maryland's 6th team foul so it was Iowa ball out of bounds after the technical free throws. I was watching to see who Fran picked to shoot the FTs but it was OOB. And I thought it was a quick and cheap tech but it might have been building all game and that was the straw.

I'm not sure the exact time frame, but Texas did put up 46 in a half on us last week.

Garza and the Murrays covered up some pretty glaring issues, and now that the shine of a decent run with them has worn off you realize you wasted 2 generational talents with a horrible supporting cast.

My biz partner just came to this realization out loud yesterday.

For years, I had been poking him gently about Fran "saving" the younger Murray, and basically stalling his career in order to milk another decent year rather than let him play and move on with his brother. And that Patty Mac was the one taking those minutes.

He hates Fran anyway - both for the bad teams and for the embarrassing behavior. But I think he is just realizing how much malpractice Fran has been getting away with. So are a lot of their fans.

I agree we are in a very good spot right now but I'd still prefer Wisconsin take a bad loss to Iowa Saturday.

It's a win win. If Iowa wins it'll keep Fran around and helps keep Wisco down. If they lose its awesome.

And it is even more frustrating that a P2 conference is so bad at basketball. Even though basketball is a distant second to football in the grand scheme of things, $. The Big 12 is clearly the best basketball conference and ISU is poised to make a deep run in the tournament.

They're about to add UCLA -- historically one of the powers of the sport in the West. Oregon's not bad either, USC has had its moments, though UW has never been much of a basketball school.

All that travel and jet lag is going to suck for their western teams, though.

The attendance at Pauley Pavilion is terrible too. Probably about 25% last game against CU. Too bad Bill wasn’t doing the color for the explanation. A ‘Dead’ reference could not have been truer.
