Purdue, the Big 10s best team, gives up 15 points, in OT, at home, against Northwestern.

Purdue shot 46 free throws o_O last night (eight attempts for Northwestern).

I remember when Kelvin Sampson complained his team only shot 12 free throws compared to our team's 22.

The fighting Steve Prohms blew a 23 point second half lead on Saturday in a loss to SIU and followed it up by blowing a 15 point lead with 9 minutes left tonight in a loss to Illinois State. Both at home.

Murray is now 8-14 and 5-6 in the Valley.

Woof.
Glad he is Murray St. Problem, hope he is stacking cash between ISU and this contract, maybe he can become a SAHD after Murray St.

I hate it when teams use free throw discrepancy as a way of saying the officiating was one sided. I don’t think that tells the whole story.

I agree...however. I seem to think that of many MVC teams and they actually haven't done great in the tourney recently.
  • 2023: Drake lost first game as 12 seed
  • 2022: Loyola lost first game as 10 seed
  • 2021: Drake lost as 11 seed
  • 2020: COVID
  • 2019: Bradley lost as 15 seed

But don't forget that in 2021 Loyola made it to the Sweet 16 by beating 1 seed Illinois. Drake did also win a play-in game that year.

I do think Indiana State is legit this season.

Per CBS, this will be the first time ever that four top-10 matchups occur in a single regular season weekend.

Saturday:
(4) Houston at (8) Kansas
(5) Tennessee at (10) Kentucky
(7) Duke at (3) North Carolina
Sunday:
(2) Purdue at (6) Wisconsin

--> Granted, UK might not technically be "top 10" after losing to UF, but ... that isn't how weekly ranking works.

To me it's usually one team being able to assert itself for positioning etc.
