His performance this year isn't what will hurt him for jobs like that. 4th place in the big 12 after everything that happened in the offseason is a stellar performance there. In a vacuum I think this year could be sold to a fanbase pretty easily.
If i'm a washington fan, 2021 is what takes him off that list for me. It'd be easy to sell the "yeah he was 7-6 at iowa state, but its iowa state, he would do better with our talent pool" angle. But harder to sell that when the team with the most talent and expectations underperformed. And then there's the angle that he's like 1-6 against the big 10.

The Washington schools have always had the worst travel among P5/P6 but their road trips are going to be next level brutal now. It’ll affect bball worse than fb but it’s not going to help.

I doubt we’ll ever have a combo like Purdy Hall Kolar X again and the offense still had brutal games that year. It’s an incredibly fair criticism.

I actually think Campbell would be more willing to move this time around, but I don’t think he’s nearly as desired.
Reading sentiment from Husky fans on Twitter and message boards, they want Grubb or Fisch. I didn’t see Campbell (or frankly many others from Thamel’s list) mentioned once.
Granted that is just fan sentiment, but it’s a good place to start to gauge how serious of a contender he’d be.

The Pac-12 was stronger top to bottom than the Big 10 this year. Washington had one of the toughest schedules in college football and still went 14-0.
I'm surprised the OC there isn't the favorite for the job, sounds like they are looking outside the program.
Seattle is very nice, but it does have a homeless problem, like most cities in the Western US (including my beloved Denver)

Seattle is absolutely awesome. It's been probably 5-6 years since I've been. I used to really like the EMP (Experience the Music Project) which was rebranded as the Museum of Pop Culture. They used to have a ton of exhibits about the creation of grunge music, old Jimi memorabilia, ton's of Nirvana stuff, and a level where you could create as well.
The UW campus is immaculate and their stadium/location is unmatched.
