I wonder why Sampson's daughter was making such a fuss?

I had said before the game in this thread that was a concern of mine - it's something the team needs to figure out. I'm not really worried about it anymore. If we lost I was going to wonder if the inability ti close the last 4 minutes was going to be a trend
Agree. Even so, next week AT BYU and AT TCU we are likely underdogs in both games after we just beat #2 in the nation. Right now, 11 of our 14 teams have a record of 11-3 or better. I can't imagine this isn't the most difficult conference, ever. I know that's subjective and no way to "prove", but, just, .....Wow!Anyone else watch Baylor-BYU? They both looked like finesse teams to me which is surprising because Baylor usually has length and plays good defense.
I think we matchup well with any team in the conference right now.
If you can’t handle opposing fans cheering, you should never go to an away game.I wonder why Sampson's daughter was making such a fuss?

If a team can get to the FT line (and make the FTs), that team doesn't have to have a great 3pt shooting night. The problem in the prior OU game was that ISU shot the 3ptrs poorly and didn't get to the FT line enough. We won last night, but we are not going to win a lot of games against better teams going 3/15 from outside the arc.
At least by the analytics, we'd be a 2-3 pt favorite at TCU right now.Agree. Even so, next week AT BYU and AT TCU we are likely underdogs in both games after we just beat #2 in the nation. Really, what else can you say on a shot like that? Just tip your capFrom Coogs message board (after MM's shot):
"Lol that shot was butter. Can’t hate it"
I'm liking him less than I did yesterday. Which wasn't much.Remember how bad Eduardo Najera would kiss up to the refs and just constantly work every call? I swear I saw him pat a ref on the butt several times. People remember beating KU and Texas for those B12 titles but the OU teams of that era were really tough too.
Hason played 14 min., and got into some foul trouble. TJ appears to be bringing him along more slowly now, after his 1st game back from injury.Statement win that will pay dividends on Selection Sunday. Also, Hason has been rock solid since returning from injury. His return makes the front court very formidable.
Our 3-point shooting is significantly better than last year. We're not great but we have four guys that the defense has to go out and guard. That allows us to run our offense more effectively. For me there are a few differences that have me disagreeing with you that we aren't better offensively; however, I will start by saying some of our scoring droughts are concerningly similar. We are better from the guard court at being a threat to penetrate. Lipsey could drive last year, but wasn't much of a threat to hit from outside, to the point defenders backed off of him daring him to shoot, compared to last night where they often doubled him trying to get the ball out of his hands. I also love that he is able to put the soft touch high of the glass like we have seen Baylor's guards do so often. Gilbert adds athleticism and liked that he is rebounding better. While he may look for the contact rather than the finish, when stopped in the lane he can often use his athleticism to actually rise up enough to get a shot off. Our FT % is a few percentage points better than last year, and in a close game like last night that can be the difference. While we still struggle at times in the half court, and I realize we haven't had a ton of conference games yet, we are getting about 6 points per game more off turnovers than we did last year.
Great pic!! Black dog sighting! Looks like a poodle or poodle mix. I would love to get an inside story on this. Has to be a working dog? Or, entertainment (hot seat guy??).
C'mon TJ, Let's run this OB play more often (SIAP):
There is always a little electricity in the air before a big game. It was like a morgue in there right before tip off. It was strange how quiet and empty it was even when they were announcing the starting lineups. Once the game got going and everybody got to their seats (very late arriving crowd) the people that showed up were very loud and supportive.Well shoot, we may have to relinquish our " one of the toughest places to play 5 minutes before tip-off" award,![]()
Kelvin has a clone as an assistant coach. The guy looks just like Kelvin did 20 years ago
His son?
Assistant coach Kellen Sampson, Head coach in waiting.Yes.
Kellen Sampson
And for what it’s worth ,
Dirty or whatever it’s been, Kelvin is a very good basketball coach.
Thought he said postgame the foot is feeling fine, just working on getting his game wind back.Hason played 14 min., and got into some foul trouble. TJ appears to be bringing him along more slowly now, after his 1st game back from injury.
Anybody know how his foot is feeling?
I said to who I was watching it with live, you can't defend that shot. Not possible; if he makes it, he makes it and you move on. Nothing more you could've done there defensively to prevent that and 99% of guys wouldn't even attempt it.Really, what else can you say on a shot like that? Just tip your cap
