Can't match last year's 4-0 conference start without winning this one. I'd love a replay of last year's game in Norman, only a few more points:

ISU 73, OU70

Game Recap: Men's Basketball | 01.04.2023

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Caleb Grill scored 20 points and No. 25 Iowa State held on to beat Oklahoma 63-60 on Wednesday night.
Osun Osunniyi added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Cyclones (11-2, 2-0 Big 12).
Iowa State led 61-60 late but turned the ball over on an inbounds pass with 7.5 seconds remaining. Oklahoma turned it right back over with 6.5 seconds to play. Osunniyi hit two free throws with 5.4 seconds left to make it 63-60, and Tanner Groves missed an off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Just not sold on Oklahoma. Providence is their only really good win.
I love our team, TJ, and our effort. But, I have no clue how good we really are. I think we are decent. I have been following Virginia Tech as a barometer. They have gotten soundly defeated by anybody good they have played. We are better than we were then - I think. Our best win is VCU. We will learn a lot the next two games. Massive increase in opponent quality. I suspect we will be tough to beat in Hilton - hope so anyway. Honestly, I do not have a good feeling about going to OU. Hope I am wrong. Hate to see conference traitors do well. Yes - I am part of the hateful 8.

That’s better than ISU’s best win, Iowa. Neither team played a grueling schedule but they also have decent wins against Iowa, USC and Arkansas. I think Iowa State and OU are pretty even. Probably going to come down to who can execute down the stretch

I'm not either.

But they are the best team ISU has faced this year outside of A@M, and it's in Norman and the first true road test of the season and the start of the conference season. Be nice to steal this one.

First full slate conference Saturday.

Doesn't hit quite the same as football but should be fun to tune in.
