First draft was bad, basically got two borederline NFL starters in Ingram and Evans. Last years draft was pretty good with Addison and Pace as a UFA was good. Hiring Flores was great. Trading for Hock was a good deal, though the big deal was not, and I believed that before the injury.
I do think he’s got to have a good off-season or they need to move on. If they mortgage everything else and end up with market-setting deals for JJ and Hunter and pay Kirk market value, then they are in trouble. Basically any idiot can do that. They’d basically be back to the days of Rhodes, Barr, Hunter, Kendricks and Kirk all getting top dollar, meaning the rest of the team is constructed with duct tape and baling wire.
You’ve already paid Hock like he’s a Kittle/Gronk hybrid, and JJ is going to set the market. No way around that. Got to make some magic happen with the rest of that roster.
If it’s a Penix vs McCarthy national championship matchup, the Vikes will have a great opportunity to really evaluate which of the two they like, as both should be there for them.
