Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Yeah I'll bite. They aren't the same offensively.

Now DEFENSIVELY... yeah you are splitting hairs to find a difference. Which is very a very Fran guard quality.
I think Harding is a lot quicker than JorBo, but obviously a lot smaller too. I think Harding is a project much like JorBo was, but they are and were being forced to play earlier than they probably should because Fran can't recruit.

I actually don't hate watching either of them play, but I'm a basketball junky. I will admit there is some entertainment value in watching undersized local kids go up against the big boys. But truthfully, you get most of that from UNI and Drake, especially if they make the tourney... And IDK if that's what you want to see out of ur P5 team twice a week OR in the NCAA Tournament.

A LOT of iowa fans don't get this. (Not you, @iahawks , but most ia fans don't see how hopelessly outgunned at guard iowa is from the jump when you are trotting that out there night in and night out in a power conference. Its a tall task, and it is going to show up on defense the most.)

The main difference in enjoyment when watching undersized local kids go against the big boys is in whether those undersized kids are working within a well coached system or not.

Not even close. Way different ball players. Harding is pretty quick and a much better ball handler, but his shot is iffy. JorBo could hit threes from day one, but he was slower and his ballhandling was very suspect especially early in his career.

Not sure who I think is or will be better at this point.
Like Harding and Bohananon standing at a urinal, I knew I had to be on my toes.

I was at Blue Shark last night in Weat Des Moines. Quite a few people in there with Hawk gear on. When I left at 7:15 they stiill hadnt put the Hawkeye game on the tv’s.

Dix seems prime for a Drake or UNI transfer.

I also could see Bowen leaving after being jerked around on playing time. There’s no reason he should be in a time share at PG with Brock Harding. Not being an Iowa kid another factor that could push him away. Would be the 3rd year in a row the Iowa starting PG to begin the year hit the portal.

I keep seeing Fran apathy come up but I'm not hearing that from my circle of Iowa fans. It's 100% the band wagon fans hopping on the Clark train.

Harding is 6’0”. JorBo was 6’1”. Lipsey is 6’1”, for the record. Brock definitely needs to add muscle but he’s a true FR, he’ll add enough there.

Agree though, they’re completely different players.

Lipsey defends though. I'm not sure why he'd be in this type of conversation.

Fran has never had a good point guard. His best guards have been small forward wing type players in Wieskamp, Jok and Marble.

In past years Iowa had guys like White, Uthoff, Garza, the Murray twins or Cook be able to bail out the bad guard play.

I just find it funny that this board acts like he’s tiny when he’s a full inch shorter than your best player.

Brock will be a decent defender once he adds a few pounds of muscle. He’s got good instincts and hands.
Tiny doesn't specifically mean height. Also, TJ measures his players without shoes on, how does Fran do it?

I'd also bet that Brock is never a decent defender while playing under Fran.
