Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Kansas - 32
Kansas State - 12

UCF - 1
WVU - 12

Big 10 Wins
Illinois - 4
Indiana - 8
Iowa - 4
Maryland - 7
Michigan - 24
Michigan State - 24
Minnesota - 2
Nebraska - 0
Northwestern - 2
Ohio State - 15
Penn State - 1
Purdue - 13
Rutgers - 1
Wisconsin - 20

Big 12 Avg = 9.5
Big 12 Median = 8.5

Big 10 Avg = 8.92
Big 10 Median = 5.5

Both to a degree are carried by their top brands in this particular statistic. The difference in the medians shows the Big 10 is substantially worse from a depth perspective. Even with the new additions to the Big 12 skewing things a little. The Big 10 has far more bottom feeders.

I'm not a great statistician

This has been mentioned oftentimes before, but it bears repeating. I believe that part of the slide in UNI Panther basketball is at least indirectly a result of Franny's recruiting. Can you imagine JorBo, Dix, Kreiner, Harding, Baer, either of the Sandforts, Pemsl, etc on UNI's team? I think UNI maintains success if that occurs - because each of those players would have learned to play decent defense - a staple for teams that want to have any type of success in the post-season.

I've said it for years but Fran has killed the UNI basketball program.

The worst part is that he's so damn late in the cycle doing it. He strikes out on his 'top' guys and then comes way late so UNI doesn't have a chance to replace the kid they just lost to Fran.

Pemsl, Kriener, JorBo and Dix were all more or less done deals and Fran swooped in in August and took them. Baer only had a PWO from UNI and somehow turns into a functional body there.

Yep just brutal.

Dix seems prime for a Drake or UNI transfer.

I also could see Bowen leaving after being jerked around on playing time. There’s no reason he should be in a time share at PG with Brock Harding. Not being an Iowa kid another factor that could push him away. Would be the 3rd year in a row the Iowa starting PG to begin the year hit the portal.

Agreed. He just seems destined to end up at Drake. UNI is already one over for next year and there aren't any obvious portal losses coming.

He'll do well in the Valley, he'd fit what Bradley does too.

2015 and 2019 really screwed ISU’s numbers in this timeframe. Damn. Unacceptable that those squads lost in the opening round. 2015 team should have breezed into yet another Sweet 16 for ISU. But being at .500 is pretty respectable here amongst all these programs.

This is working out well for our hawk troll.
