Thinking about this some more today after listening to local sports radio. Beth should have just pulled the bandaid straight off and told Kirk it was time to go, too. Does anyone really think he will want the new OC to succeed? Think about it if you are a dad. Do you really want the next guy to light it up and show up your son? It's such a huge cluster there in IC and I'm here for it.
Brian is absolutely going to get a job somewhere. He won't be a coordinator but he's a really good guy to bring in to run your OL or TEs. I'd imagine he's on Belichick's staff in San Diego next year.
Yeah, for all his faults and failures as an OC, he is a good position coach.
I still don't understand the title of this thread. Brian will be an offensive line coach somewhere next year. Maybe NFL, maybe a coach that is building a new staff.
His best position as a coach is bent over, grabbing his ankles.
I don’t really think she can afford to fire Kirk, so she’s doing the next best thing by making his life miserable in hopes of saving a few (tens of millions of) dollars.
Based on what? Iowa’s oline absolutely took a step back when he replaced Reese Morgan. Gronk and Hernandez in NE? Gimme a break. Any one of us could’ve coached that position group under Bill Obrien and Belichek
He'll land as a position coach somewhere. Problem is he'll be making, at most, probably 1/3 of what he was making at Iowa with likely a higher cost of living and a fraction of the job security he's enjoyed under daddy. That's definitely a lifestyle change.
