I think it'd be a great fit. He's different than what we do offensively and that's a great fit. Kirk would never hire him thoughI actually think Frost could be a pretty good hire for OC at a lot of programs. Not a good fit for EIU though.

Here you've described why he's not a good fit.I think it'd be a great fit. He's different than what we do offensively and that's a great fit. Kirk would never hire him though
I think most Iowa Fans want different. Especially scheme and style wise. Get rid of the I-fornation, 3 TE sets, obvious running and passing looks. Frost is different from Ferentz and chryst in that way but still runs a balanced offense. I think it would benefit Kirk to have a younger, different mindset on staff so in that way because Frost is different I think it'd be a great fitHere you've described why he's not a good fit.
The football team doesn't need CMac. They already mastered the bounce pass:

I agree, I just can't believe they're handing it to McNamara again. He hasn't been healthy in 3 years. Two major surgeries. You can't possibly have Deacon Hill as your backup. So it's Lainez and Resar?Who will want to transfer in with McNamara already being the high paid starter?
We said that last year. The good news for them is it literally can't get worse.
Add in the fact they have a pretty immobile QB coming back from injury. They can’t afford to change the offense up much. The REAL question is…. does it even matter who the new OC is? Does anyone really believe anything will change offensively?
If they open up the offense, and it actually produces, KF would have to admit his strategy offensively all these years was a failure.
Didn’t their WR from OSU transfer again? Saw one was in the portal.I agree, I just can't believe they're handing it to McNamara again. He hasn't been healthy in 3 years. Two major surgeries. You can't possibly have Deacon Hill as your backup. So it's Lainez and Resar?
The transition to a new OC under KF is going to be fascinating. How many Swarm dollars does it take to recruit a WR to Iowa right now? All of that uncertainty with a bad OL.
The good news for them is it literally can't get worse.
Not that I have heard of, but of course with the new transfer rules he could very well transfer out if he wanted to. Vines is in the portal.Didn’t their WR from OSU transfer again? Saw one was in the portal.
Iowa doesn't recruit QB's. They buy them. They bought a lemon last year.Is Iowa recruiting a QB, or are they really rolling with McNamara/Hill/freshman next season?
Every team either is or will be "buying" their QB from now on in this new era.Iowa doesn't recruit QB's. They buy them. They bought a lemon last year.
The difference is Iowa is paying hundreds of thousands to get the QB to come to Iowa in the first place, while Iowa State is paying a fraction of that amount to prevent the QB from transferring elsewhere.Every team either is or will be "buying" their QB from now on in this new era.
Thought vines was the OSU guy. Was he a hyped recruit? I remember hawkeyes talking about him.Not that I have heard of, but of course with the new transfer rules he could very well transfer out if he wanted to. Vines is in the portal.
He showed some promise, but hard to tell in Iowa's offense. It did seem the few times he got thrown the ball, he wouldn't be able to haul it in.Thought vines was the OSU guy. Was he a hyped recruit? I remember hawkeyes talking about him.
I wouldn't say every team. Seems to me ISU has a better QB than Iowa right now and ISU didn't have to "buy" the QB. Donors are willing to contribute to these funds right now since it's new and they think it'll make a big difference. But over time, donors will be less apt to contribute if they don't see positive results. Why fork away good money for something not yielding results? Donors will instead find more useful ways to use their moneyEvery team either is or will be "buying" their QB from now on in this new era.
I would be surprised if ISU doesn't have to pony up some NIL money for Rocco moving forward. I'm sure his phone is ringing. It does help ISU and Rocco that he probably comes from quite a bit of money and doesn't need or want it as much as other players would.I wouldn't say every team. Maybe... maybe not. But my point is NIL $ may eventually dry up over time in many non-elite schools as donors didn't get their expected return on investment.I would be surprised if ISU doesn't have to pony up some NIL money for Rocco moving forward. OL has been beyond horrible the last two years. A lot of attrition and injuries for that group certainly didn't help. Tom Brady would have had a very hard time with this line the last two years. All the focus is on play calling but Iowa really needs someone who can get their OL back to what it used to be. Brian's play calling was conservative but having a mediocre OL makes running Kirk's system almost impossible.
