*** Official Iowa vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

You're digging up youtube vids on a player that was at ISU 20+ years ago to argue Gilbert doesn't have the best handles in ISU history. Ok, you have to pull Tinsley into the conversion to make an argument. Anyone else? He'd be the only one I can think of. Good company as I've mentioned. Dig up a youtube vid of Gilbert going behind his back to King while you're researching youtube.
Tyrese Haliburton was pretty good...

Last year was a totally different game, not comparable at all. Iowa's entire roster was red-hot shooting and we couldn't throw a stone in the ocean. It happens, we were still a decent team.

We didn't shoot particularly well on Thursday. Missed a lot of good looks on threes and mid-range. Our posts bullied them inside and our guards were too fast and athletic for their guards. We exposed multiple major flaws in their roster.

I'm not sure why you're dying on this hill and then pushing so hard against something that quite easily shows a better ball handler.

Gilbert's really good but I don't see anything unique about his handles. When he slows things down he's very good in traffic.

I'd say Lipsey has better handles. Maybe Pav.

Horton, Niang, and Matt Thomas come to mind. I'd probably find more if I spent more than 1 minute on it.

ISU couldn't dribble down the court last year at Iowa City.

It happened in a few other games when things went badly. Hopefully this group can keep from flinching if things aren't going well.

This game would have been much closer had senior leader Patrick McCaffrey played.

Oh, what's that? He did play? I stand corrected.
Lipsey was a freak on the football field, QB. And punt returns. Nobody could touch him. Multi talented and smart athlete.
So that leap, catch and pass play is child's play to him. Lucky us.
Would have been solid 5 star BB if hadn't lost so much time with that serious injury.
All blue blood schools would have been hounding him up to signing ... just like Barnes.

Love this quote from Iowa Rivals forum:

"Pryce Sandford has the arms of an esports player. You aren't Durant. What are you doing son"

Here is a dose of piss in your Cheerios after everyone got to enjoy the win

Iowa sucks. Compared to the 3 teams we played in Orlando Iowa would have been the worse team. And I'm not saying those teams were good.

This was our best game performance but if we are all slapping our backs over it then we'll be very disappointed in conference. Jump in metrics reflects only that we like to beat up on the weak. Throw in a real team and we wilt.

I didn't do any of that.

'Why isn't Omaha out there because recruiting rating!?' and 'but the ESPN tourney!!' are so far leading the charge in CF meltdown season.

Interesting take. I'll counter you with the bold prediction we end up .500 or better in conference. My opinion is worth every bit as much as yours.
