F*CK IOWA

I think most would agree Iowa's offense is a special kind of weakness. And yes, that's nobody's fault but Iowa and KF.
And Iowa State’s basketball team the last two years had a very special, and poor offense. Can u imagine any of us going to an Iowa site and listing all the what ifs of why we got beat. I would chastise those fans also.

One arm tied behind your back???? Why even say that? It would be like an Iowa State fan saying we wouldn't have lost a game Brock's junior year if we didn't have a ****** offense line. All excuses and what ifs. You, and we, are what we are. Can you type "we got beat by a better team."
You realize that all fans use excuses right? ISU fans used a weather delay as an excuse a few years ago. A freaking weather delay???

Yes they do. I will admit you are extraordinary though. You go to an opposing site and waste your time describing these what ifs for months and years. Just try it....."we got beat by a better team."

All of this is changing next year and will be just what ISU fans want. Iowa playing in one of the P2 conferences will definitely make Iowa's schedule tougher. And ISU playing in the new Big 12 will make their schedule much easier.

And I feel bad for some of you and would suggest getting new Hawk friends. Every friend or family that I have knows the Big 10 West is bad, thinks that Iowa will get beaten badly tomorrow, knows that Iowa's offense is broken, and thinks that nothing will really change with the offense as long as KF is coaching.
Some of us Iowa fans saw this coming. Who is saying that Michigan isn't the better team?

Just got back from Indy. Tough loss, but not unexpected. Michigan did everything they needed to do to win the game. They outplayed Iowa and forced errors, allowing them to cruise comfortably to the win.

Great environment and fans all around.

Proud of our guys to limit Michigan to 212 total yards on offense. Parker handed Saban the blueprint.

I don't even care about replays or any of that stuff. Iowa put themselves in poor positions against the #1 team in the country (debatable) and paid the price.

Wishing ISU the best in their upcoming bowl game (Liberty Bowl vs Kentucky?) and then on to 2024.

Peace.

Wait, I'm being chastised here? I figured we were just agreeing in a very unconventional and antagonistic way. Lol.

I listened to the cope from Jon Miller on Iowa Everywhere this morning. He wants to have it both ways, Iowa had a real shot to win and also there's a glass ceiling in college football for Iowa. He cited the defense limiting UM's points per play, but ignored the fact that Michigan got fairly disinterested in what was going on on the field once they got up 10-0, because why shouldn't they? A defense that only had to beat teams similarly poorly endowed on offense in the Big 10 West, but Iowa's offense is the reason they don't have a chance at playing for a championship.

He says things get harder starting next year, which is true. But not much. Iowa has more protected rivalries within the lower half of the pecking order in the Big 10 than anyone else, so their path will always be comparatively easy compared to most others. But he understands it without being able to admit it to himself. Iowa is the fake ID. Their record means they should be a top team but they just aren't. No West team is. Or has been. 0-10 in championship games all time.

It isn't that you aren't getting the respect you deserve because of your record. I know Kirk probably thinks like that too. It's that they really aren't much more than half a football team, regardless of record, that toys with the emotions of their fans into thinking they are relevant in ways that they are generally revealed not to be.

Iowa got its ass kicked as everyone knew it would. Stop polishing the ******* turd with your ifs and buts and moral victories.

Agree that Iowa can’t control their schedule in conference, but their fans should be able to control their perception of how good they actually are.

They played two ranked teams all year. Got shut out by combined 57-0. Mustered barely more than 200 yards combined in those games and had almost as many turnovers (7) as first downs (11).

Is their defense good? Of course. But when you feast in nearly as anemic offenses in the big 10 west it helps. Fact of the matter is that there are about 30-40 teams that would have ended up with Iowas record or better had they played that schedule.

I’m not even saying we’re better. I’m just saying you mix in 1-2 more decent teams on the schedule per year and they’re not sniffing Big 10 championship games.

Some of their fans see it for what it is, but many others are still delusional.

Yeah, that is the disgusting part.

Iowa fans will say how much tougher their schedule is next year compared to Iowa State's "easy" schedule. They play Ohio State and Washington as their tough part of their schedule.

Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Minnesota remain on the Hawk's schedule, but they get rid of Penn State and they pick up a bad Michigan State team, a Maryland squad who are not world beaters and a UCLA team that finished 7-5 this year.

How is that more difficult that Iowa State's schedule for next year? ISU does not have to to play Oklahoma, Texas or Okey State, but Kansas State, Kansas, Utah, West Virginia are on the schedule.

Iowa's schedule next year isn't has tough as what they are saying and Iowa State's schedule isn't going to be as easy as what they are saying.

I just love Hawk fans saying... "well, we did a lot better than I, or anyone else, thought we would".

Wut? Michigan covered the spread and held you scoreless... and only allowed you to cross the 50 yd line 3 times. That is total domination by any measure. What were you so proud of? That you didn't lose by 40? Wow... talk about low expectations for a team in the B1G Championship game. Truth is... everyone knows Iowa sucks and had no chance in this game... and that's exactly how it turned out.

Being a Hawkeye fan is like falling victim to a weird psyop.

I still think Texas has a shot of sneaking in. If the beat the Pokes convincingly and FSU squeaks by I think it could happen. Remember kids, it’s all about finding “the best 4 teams” and Texas will certainly be in the convo in that scenario.
Friggin nailed it!

Michigan’s win expectancy never went below 90%. Yep the hawks really had them on the ropes, quite the moral victory. If it wasn’t for those damn refs…

Ummmm. I agree with you re: Iowa getting its ass kicked,, hence the "not surprising" comment as well as the MIchigan outplayed Iowa theme. Where did I have any ifs and or buts. I completely discounted any review arguments.

There is no turd to polish.

Michigan won. Decisively. I never declared a moral victory....just pointed out that a strong, smart defense could limit MIchigan, and that Saban could maybe do it in the semis.

C'mon man. Be real.
