Plundering the Portal

Honestly I hope we can find an edge guy. I think Singleton and Orange - presuming both stay - and even TO can play there. I just didn't see a lot of quick twitch in many or any of our edge guys.

Effort, size, length.

Yes. Quick twitchiness? Not as much
I agree we need a monster pass rusher. We have a lot of young DE's that might fit the bill.

But I hope we add a dimension to our defense next season. Our defense was one of the worst in country in average length of completed pass. I attribute that to our 3 man rush vs. DB play. Would love to find a bigger/quick LB who is equal parts pass rusher/drop in coverage.

So would 120 other schools. Not knocking your thought, just saying it was Capt. Obvious.

Maybe AJ Klein has a son?

Ouch. And O linemen can't be cheap either. I think that these NIL collectives and SEC / Big10 hege-money are going to speed up the haves vs. have-nots:

Develop your Purdy, Matt.

Doesn’t Nebraska have a top 20 NIL collective and tons of donors and all that big 10 money?

We were 99th in sacks this year. Pass rush was lacking. I think a DE is a big need

Newest update is that he has offers from South Carolina, Duke, KU, Houston, Rutgers, and ISU. Big plus for ISU is they currently have a HC on staff!
I'm confused? Because of out of all of those, only Houston and Duke do not have a HC currently. I hope he comes here but if anyone spent any time watching South Carolina's OL this past season they are probably more desperate for OL help then we are. Because... well, yeah. The Gamecocks looked like an undrafted rookie trying to block prime Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor, essentially.

is that guy who can do a swim, a club and swat, or a jerk pull, etc - and do it in a tight window and just explode by the block.

I do a swim, club & swat, AND a jerk pull usually within the same 3 minute session...

This has some interesting info, not just about Nebraska but also NIL and future of potential revenue sharing.

As of 11/30 @8:24AM I was curious which teams had the most outgoing transfers in the portal. Information taken from 247sports. Holy bucket Indiana. Also, surprised by how many Kansas State have.

Indiana: 18
Kansas State: 8
Purdue: 7
Boston College: 7
Wake Forest: 7
North Carolina: 6
Pittsburgh: 5
Kentucky: 5
Mississippi State: 5
Texas A&M: 5

Indy I get - they suck, get sodomized 3x per year in the B1G East, and they just fired their coach.
All hands, abandon ship...

K State is really interesting. Klieman is a good coach and seems to be firmly entrenched. Is there rot setting in? Or is it normal, but looks high because 3 QBs left, seeing Avery Johnson in the rear view mirror?

Pretty sure K-State did this last year also. Heard they run off a lot of players and then go heavy into the portal. He's a good coach, might be part of his recruiting strategy.
