Official Utah Utes Welcome Thread

I assume Utah is like KSU - awful on Twitter but fine in real life.

I’ve never met a KSU fan on Twitter that wasn’t a complete twat. I’ve never met a KSU IRL that I didn’t like.
I think this could be true. But I would have the hardest of times believing Surly is a normal, decent human being.

More evidence that Utah is more than willing to slide into the Texas entitled role. Although I do agree, they have a somewhat easy schedule with toughest games all at home.

Unless they are playing Baylor as a non-conf game, something isn’t right with the schedule. Their athletic site lists Baylor and byu as 2024 non-conf opponents, which is now not true.

They should be good tho.

I do expect them to run the conference for a little bit.
Arizona prison raped them this year so they would need to figure out how to beat them first. Baylor was a one score game. We will see if they are as good, or if playing in the PAC has a little big ten west to it.

Cocky prediction for sure. Even a team that is favored in all of their games is going to have a very difficult time going undefeated. That said, they are somewhat complimentary of ISU so it's not ALL bad.

They may be one of the teams at top of the football hierarchy for a while. But I don't think the Legacy Big 12 schools are going to allow them to run things like they did Texas and OU. Just because they've had some good football success, they don't have anywhere close to the media pull that Texas and OU had.

This is what I meant. I think they will be at the top of the conference for football. I doubt they are running things like OUT did.

Agree. There isn't any one team in our conference that is vastly more valuable than the others. We're the conference of leftovers, which has brought some stability. If they want to try to run things they can go find a competing offer somewhere else. At this stage in realignment, no one else wants them. I have a hard time believing ISU, KU, KSU, OSU, Baylor, TCU, WVU and Tech would have much time for Utah trying to be a mini Texas/OU.

They’ve been a top 15ish program the last decade or so? They will definitely find the top of the standings in football very quickly.

A team coming from the worst P5 football conference the last decade who is 0-4 in their last 4 bowl games thinks they are going to dominate a new conference; good luck with that one.

It's a non-conference game along with KSU/Arizona. Just not enough time to change the non-cons.

Those games results need to be used for championship tie-breakers though IMO
