I don't think he's done, so it'll be fascinating where he lands.
Oh I think he is. People said the same hung about Bill Cowher, dungy, etc, heck greuden should have been done. That game day analyst role is super cushy and pays very well.

I went down a rabbit hold reading Texas A&M message boards last night.

It made me so appreciative of Cyclone fans and this board. Outside of the cave and the understandable venting that happens in Gameday threads, we have a far greater percentage of reasonable posters than most big name universities.

That would make no sense, IMO. A guy goes from having the best situation in a conference to a tougher one - I don't see that going well for Indiana. They'd be better hiring a FCS guy or a guy whose been in a situation where its about developing gems and what not rather than having the best setup.

But I could be wrong
He would probably quadruple his salary and bring along coaches that had that same opportunity.

Oh, for his perspective, absolutely makes sense. And I'd carry his bags if it'd get me back into coaching even as a freaking analyst, are you kidding, lol...

but I was just referring to it as a school's POV.

If I'm Indiana's AD my short list would be probably

Sean Lewis - Colorado OC, kinda, and former Kent State HC
Tim Albin - Ohio Bobcats, HC - yes, kinda like Toledo in a sense but he had a mess to clean up and has at least been a HC outside of Ohio as well so you've seen him at two schools as HC
Chris Creighton, Eastern Michigan - won at a lot of smaller, schools, including a couple where its tough to win
Heacock - don't get me wrong. I don't want him to leave. But at Indiana, running a defense like the dime stack would make them unique, and a little hard to prepare for, he also is familar with the recruiting territory.
Alex Golesh, HC, South Florida - yes, it was only one season but he got them bowl bound after the dumpster fire that was USF.

He's been incredibly familar with the Big 10 - time spent at Illinois, GA at Ohio State, been at Northern Illinois, Toledo, Iowa State, even at Tennessee which geographically is not far away from Indiana. Yeah, probably not getting any studs out of SEC country, but he's got that and now has connections in Florida.

Trick is just one year as HC but , meh, maybe?

It’ll be interesting what smaller schools open up as these get filled. Nate S made a good impression when interviewing either last year or the year before for some smaller head coaching jobs. I’m sure a year as a coordinator will help. Hopefully we can hang on to him for another year.

Agreed, although I think schools might want to see a bit more in terms of offensive production. Don't doubt that he;s a fantastic interview. Its just... our offense IDK if you're "selling" a hire as an AD to boosters and fans would be enough.

I think if the offense grows and we can finish top 50, maybe better next year... then for sure, he'll have opportunities, no doubt

TexAgs should be a subject of study from a University on insane human behavior.
