The team improved a ton this year. Absolutely thrilled with the strides we made in all three phases.
I think the single biggest personnel move we made was moving freshman Black into the starting lineup at guard (and removing the previous occupant). The future is looking really bright upfront.

I’m fairly positive that given his posting history he doesn’t know much about any of the 4 things you mentioned.
I mean it's been obvious he doesn't know anything about football.
That kid is the best Oline prospect ISU has seen in a long time. A difference maker.
Yes we should all thank a few miserably negative people on a message board for the turnaround. Those who come on to an ISU fan site and try to convince others we need to chase off our best coach in our program's modern history.

Unless frog is writing some REALLY big checks, his thoughts on ISU's program are given no time of day by anyone in the athletics department or coaching staff. I think most rational people know that. Frog is either completely delusional in thinking his thoughts on this topic actually matter to people making decisions OR he's just trolling. I assume it's the latter.
I am sure you are correct. I don't connect all the dots or track crazy statements on this site, but as u indicated, I doubt this is his first doozy. Thanks.
A positive can be said is well, he did a heck of a coaching job and a great turnaround, this is who he is as a coach and slow-starts are a norm. I can be happy with the 7-5 finish with a very young team and that poor of a start with this teams adversity it faced early on.
The negative is, this is his MO and it may be hard to ever possibly expect a 10-11 win season at ISU. I can be happy with 7-8 win seasons, but when we can look back on several seasons and play the what if game, then it kind of sucks knowing there was plenty left on the table with the talent we had.
When you go from a 1-8 conference record; then lose your starting QB, tailback, tight end, offensive lineman, and defensive lineman immediately before the next season due to a silly gambling scandal; then finish the next season with a 6-3 record (including 4-1 on the road), to suggest there's any rot is ridiculous, period.
In those seasons that u think we should have would won 10-11 games, do u realize how bad our offensive line was? I am saying this with hindsight. Matt is loyal to a fault and he has since made the hard decisions. Brock and Breece covered lots of ills. Hell, Brock ran for his life his junior and senior years. I now look back and feel fortunate we won what we did; hence, the 10-11 wins were a pipedream, imo.
Campbell didn't start coaching to win, and thus for his job, until that guy called him out.
I'm glad he did it. I'm glad Campbell responded the way he did, and started trusting Scheelhaase as much as he does Heacock.
I don't want to watch Hawkeye style football.
KSU game was fun because the team actually played to win, not lose, as they so often did in 2021, 2022, and the start of 2023.
Especially agree with your last sentence.
Danny Mac did waaaay too much of that and it was maddening. For all the good he did, he squandered many opportunities i.e. 04-05 North titles playing "not to lose".
