Yeah. Just look for the guy running around like Jack Sparrow.
Most places have him as a top 5 CB at worst. Some mocks have him as the first CB taken. He'll be a first rounder unless his combine is terrible.
And hard to imagine he has a poor combine. He’s got good enough game film he doesn’t need to blow up at the combine, just put up solid numbers, which I guess he will.
As good as he is, their D will be fine. Some of that is finishing in a historically bad offensive league. But also I would say Castro is the straw that stirs the drink on defense. I don’t know how he projects to the NFL, but he’s a great college player.
Karma for what? Not sure what DeJean would have ever done to deserve a season ending injury.
I have seen him projected as high as 10 and then as low as late first round, the guy for ESPN had him in his top 10 best athletes in the upcoming draft. A team that takes him would get an electric punt returning, and at least a very good safety, if he struggles playing corner at the next level. His lack of playing man to man will hurt him, but the kid is very athletic and that will keep him in the first round if he recovers from this injury.
It takes a really special kind of talent to be an impactful cover corner in the NFL. I think CDJ will have a nice career. But I try to picture him covering guys like AJ Brown, Justin Jefferson, J'Marr Chase, Davante Adams, Ceedee Lamb, etc., and as talented as I think he is, I struggle seeing it. Excellent return guy, really good safety or nickel package guy. But I'll be surprised if he goes in the 1st round.
I was surprised also, but almost all draft projection I have seen has him going in the mid to late first round. I think he will struggle playing man as a corner but would be great as a safety or covering the slot receiver. Kid is a heck of an athlete and if he can play man to man would be a steal in the draft when you factor in his return abilities which are very good.
