Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Adding that the Iowa football team got shut out for the first time in 23 years this year. That’s goes to show that it is along time with out even sniffing the second week of the tournament.

I see Iowa actually has some beef on their non-con coming up. Next week they play Creighton, dat should be bewy bewy interesting. We'll see how might mouse dishes dimes in that game. Than against Oklahoma which you would think a tourney contender could compete in.
Kalkbrenner is going to destroy them.

Clark and the women’s team honestly impact their men’s program. They’ve never had outstanding support especially in the noncon, but if you’re making the trip to IC to watch a team you’re going for WBB.

I also think football has played a part too. Barta has price gauged Iowa fans for years and I think it hit a point where for a good amount of fans it's one or the other.

Be careful about using Oklahoma as a measuring stick for Iowa. I would anticipate them being a bottom 4 program in the Big 12 this year.

Where is Elite? Oh, that's right... tired of losing to teams they're better than.

Given those facts, it is actually remarkable the success that he has had.
Yep, Fran as a coach is similar to Tom Davis in that neither recruited well, but still had decent results. Fran is a terrible recruiter for a variety of reasons, but yet still fields a competitive team most years.

Tom Davis would run laps around Fran. Better win %, played tougher schedule, went to tournament more often and went past 1st weekend. Finished season ranked 6x with average ranking of about 15, Fran finished season ranked 4x with average rank of 22. Both have 13 seasons complete at Iowa.

Tom Davis run out because he didn't have 'success' in tourney despite 2x Sweet 16 and an Elite 8.

Fran isn't sure there really is a Sweet 16.

How many of those ranked teams with Davis did he have with Raveling players? Also, the Elite 8 and one of the Sweet 16s was also with Raveling players. Dr. Tom walked into a way better position than Fran did. I feel that Dr. Tom and Fran are pretty similar, weak recruiters, but better than average coaches.
