I live near Cedar Rapids and have a bunch of friends that are Hawkeye fans. The general feeling I get from them about the basketball program is the same one I get about the football program. They may win, but the product is stale and hard to get excited about. One team plays no defense and is usually the team on the floor with fewer athletes. The other team plays no offense and wins in spite of the glaring deficiencies, albeit in a very ugly way.

I have to admit that it's difficult for me to even get excited about trolling Iowa because both teams have made it so boring. So I guess in some way Fran and Kirk have won.

My father in law who is a huge hawk fan and my wife and I share a YTTV subscription with called us last night irate, asking why he couldn't find the Hawk game on the YTTV. I had her relay to him that Big Ten+ is not part of YTTV package. He continued to be irrationally upset, and accused me of not trying hard enough to get Big Ten+ because I am an Iowa State fan. He said if it were an Iowa State game I would go through hell or high water to get it. I had my wife tell him yeah, no ****, I'm an Iowa State fan. I am not going to pay for a Big 10+ subscription for him. I'm still not sure he understood and thinks I am purposefully withholding Big 10+ access from him. Boomers sometimes, man...

My Iowa friends don’t pay for Big Ten+ either. At least with ESPN+ there’s a whole bunch of other things on there. 30for30s, bunch of other games, and espn productions. B1G+ you get a Jordan bohannon documentary and a replay of the Northwestern v Iowa game.

Yeah, garbage product. I already don't even watch the regular Big 10 network, no way am I paying for an app to watch Iowa's annual cupcake beatdowns in November. I know they are generally the most exciting games Iowa fans get to see each year, but still. Count me out.

I see Iowa actually has some beef on their non-con coming up. Next week they play Creighton, dat should be bewy bewy interesting. We'll see how might mouse dishes dimes in that game. Than against Oklahoma which you would think a tourney contender could compete in.
