Iowa's prez is a female. That means Kirk's boss is a female and his boss's boss is a female. I bet that is torture to him.Is their Pres still the Golden Corral guy? Or do they have a new one

The latter. He was a great coach who was the definition of consistency, assisted by incredible defensive coaching staffs. He was also the beneficiary of ridiculously easy conference schedules. BUT, he took advantage of that and won most of the games he should. His stubbornness on offense and inability to recruit good QBs held the program back from what could have been elite status. Now the transition potentiallly to a new regime along with the addition of west coast powers could very easily relegate them to Minnesota level status for a decade or more. My honest opinion. It will be interesting to watch.
Will EIU flourish and reach new heights once the Ferentz family is gone? Or will they sink, demonstrating that Captain KKKirk was a pretty good coach after all?

Really wasn't meant as a dig at Campbell or Iowa state I was just saying that because that games really the only impact it has on Iowa State in regard to post I quotedIf you think CMC treats the Cyhawk game as anything more than somewhere between a glorified scrimmage and a pre-season barometer to teach off of and opportunity to grow, then you aren't paying attention.
We're like 8 years into this. It's blatantly obvious that to the extent which CMC cares about actual wins and losses (which is dubious at best) starts somewhere around week 4 and doesn't really include actually beating iowa any more than it would to actually beat Lousiana Layaette or Ohio (which he for a FACT considers both those seasons a success)...In fact, i think you can make a very strong case he resents being judged in any capacity whether he beats iowa or not.
He's killing it in conference record wise, recruiting wise, culture wise, player development wise in the context of Iowa State historically. He loves that s***, and he's really into that stuff specifically. Winning Cyhawk games. Meh, not so much.
Sure there's a segment of the fan base that will never let him live that attitude down, but there's many more who kind of say it is what it is.
We have seen iowa consistently exposed against other opponents of some (or really any) notable legitimate strength like clockwork. We judge iowa just as much on that, if not more so, than head to head outcomes with Campbell's half-hearted tepid attempts to beat Iowa. And Kirk and Brian have been lacking in that department for some time, and to think otherwise is delusional. And they always double down lol. This firing represents an opportunity to see that reliable well-established concrete reality go away.
That is why it is a sad day for Cyclone fans.
There, explained.
Oh he cares about it. He wants to see how our base stuff works against a solid system and how the kids respond to being put in a tough situations, etc. Lots of tape. Lots of teaching. He loves the iowa game. Are we seriously going back to the whole "CMC doesn't care about the Iowa game" thing?
Lol.
And you might want to look up definition of naive. You might want to look up the definition of interim.
Ok that's fair. Lots of ISU fans really like to watch iowa fail. It's probably not our finest quality, but I'm sure that's not news to you at this point. It's really as simple as that.Really wasn't meant as a dig at Campbell or Iowa state I was just saying that because that games really the only impact it has on Iowa State in regard to post I quoted

I bet they were moving his desk/office around to different places all season. They probably stole his piss-yellow stapler too.He was actually fired a while ago, but a glitch in payroll kept sending him paychecks. They just fixed the glitch.
Sure, I don’t disagree with that. However, the easy thing for her to do would have been to let the season run its course, stand behind Barta’s provision, not renew Brian’s contract and deflect to keep things somewhat amicable with Kirk. And you might want to look up definition of naive.
Goetz was hired by Wilson to be Barta's replacement. She didn't leave her MAC AD job, to not become AD at Iowa.
She already did the interim AD gig at Minnesota.
He’s used to it. His home boss is female too.Iowa's prez is a female. That means Kirk's boss is a female and his boss's boss is a female. I bet that is torture to him.
She's a badass. I hope we can keep her.Since there is a lot of comparing Barta and the new AD, will the new Iowa AD warn visiting teams that Iowa fans will pelt their cheerleaders with beer cans when things don't go their way? Barta liked warning visiting teams of Iowa State that Iowa fans may break into your lockeroom.
She's a badass. I hope we can keep her.
Maybe if they're dumb. I'm sure we'll have a few down years transitioning to a new HC. Happened after Fry left too. She's going to be really good.Iowa fans will not be saying that if the new head coach next year only wins 2 or 3 games the first few years. Iowa fans will be pissed that they let a Hall of Fame coach leave that just took them to the B1G Championship and a 10-2 season.
Iowa fans will be calling for Beth’s head if that happens. Look how much Iowa fans think they should have never let Tom Davis go…. and KF was 10x better than Davis.
