Good point but most tend to worry about things that actually matter or have an effect on someone you like or care about.

Going to the media and complaining is a way for a player to put outside pressure on teammates, coaches, and the organization for something they want. It's completely selfish, isn't good for team chemistry, and affects the whole team. Is it that big of a deal? Probably not. They are professionals and deal with this kind of crap all the time. But it's still a teammate adding an additional distraction on to Breece's and everyone else's plate. So it does affect players I care about.
I'll turn your comment back on you. Why does my post bother you so much that you dumbed it and you felt the need to tell me to "get over it"? How did my post affect anyone you care about to the point you felt that was necessary?

Cook wanted to play with Rodgers, and had to figure it would take Breece at least half the season to recover from his knee injury, thereby giving him time to establish himself as the team's go too running back. Rodgers got hurt, Hall is leading the league on yards gained by attempt at 6.5 yards and Cook has been horrible for the team. The Jets Oline is not good, and Cook just does not have the speed that Breece has to hit the hole and get downfield.
The guy is only 28 but he is running like a back that is 34 years old.
I am a Vikings fan, an d thought he was starting to look a little washed even last season.
This is why running backs are devalued in the NFL. Vast majority of RB, even top caliber RBs, have a short shelf life
I wonder why that is? Not that it's been common but it certainly was more common in the past for backs to have longer careers.
If Saleh is to be believed, they pitched him on a worst case scenario and told him he may be sitting on the sidelines a lot and he still signed. It's not like they blew sunshine up his ass or anything. They told him this could happen.
Good question. I think the bigger picture is many offenses are not run orientated anymore. So why pay a RB $10M+ if the focus of the offense isn't on the RB? Many teams feel they can get similar RB production from players still on their rookie contracts. A 5 year RB veteran may have a half a step loss in speed, but that loss in speed may then put their skills on the same level as a younger RB who is being paid a fraction of the veteran price
Really love Cook early in his career, but with every injury it seemed like his game took a small step back. Football is sadly so brutal on their bodies, and they have such a short career.

Rarely? He was getting the bulk of the carries early on. How many plays and games does the guy need in order to "establish himself?" Last year the analytics were saying how poorly Cook did, so his metrics were trending downward fast. So he hit that running back age wall very fast. Couple that in with Rodgers going down and the jets trying to figure the offense out under a different QB and Breece coming back, then yeah his role diminishes.

He was asked directly about trade rumors. Most players would have replied in a similar way. A few would have replied in an incredible way and few would have been complete jackasses. Felt like Cook fell in that huge middle ground.
A few weeks ago Breece himself had quotes that were far more whiny.
I think it was after the Dallas game. "I only had four touches, that's why we struggled." Also said he & other backs could have done more to make the most of their opportunities. "We got down early and kind of abandoned the run."
Nothing I read in that article sounded whiney to me. Has he said other things? This is a nothing burger that happens every year in every sport.
Who knows better than us that Breece can do some elite things to compensate for not having the most dominant offensive line.
Cook probably just doesn't have that.

I actually watched more NFL as a kid and teen than I do now, and I remember Emmitt Smith just kept grinding up yards way into his 30s for what seemed like forever...but I wonder if that was a product of the times rather than some elite durability he had.
