F*CK IOWA

I think because of the subjectivity a rule like this has and just the amount of actual rules in football. There's much more than what we think. Many like this are just rarely called. I guess it's preference some want reviews for everything and number 1 goal is getting the right call no matter what I get that aspect to some degree. As a fan of sports if I'm watching a neutral game I like less reviews personally and don't think everything needs to be slowed down and analyzed.

Get the **** outta here.

Does he wave his arm a similar way when letting other punts drop before picking them up. If so a coach or the conference could have been made aware of it and put a bug in everyone's head about it. We know Iowa likes to play in the grey area a lot and this maybe one of those things they do.

I think that had more to do with the positioning on the sideline more than anything else. Not only that, when a catch is imminent, players have to slow up or they're going to fly right by the catcher (more times than not anyway). I think the anti-Iowa crowd (not specifically you) is seeing what they want to see.

I think that was a terrible call and that this rule needs to be reviewed and abolished. If someone doesn't know how to signal for a proper fair catch let them get blown the **** up. Or create a hand signal for a waive off that players have to follow (and make waves about it's dissemination). Not to have a clearly defined way of waiving teammates off, which is not only part of the game but fundamental, is so boneheaded I don't know where to begin.

You know those old town rules that "technically" exist, as they were created in a different time, but never actually abolished because everyone in their right mind knows they are stupid, therefore never enforced, and therefore never stricken? Well, this rule feels like one of those. "Sorry sir you were seen kissing on mainstreet which is technically illegal under city code 'Dumb-1a'. Here's a $100 citation."
Get the **** outta here.

I seriously doubt that Minny even saw that waving motion by Cooper. It looked like they tried to immediately tackle him when he fielded the ball. I think Cooper scores on that play regardless of waving or no waving.
Well, your eyesight is failing you or your homerism is blinding you. I don’t know what else to say.

How do you think the kicking team knows when a fair catch has been called? Serious question. They usually get it right and avoid blowing up the returner. Are you dumb, or do you think everyone else is dumb enough to believe this?

Oh wait, you probably think that’s just how DeJean runs.

Are you saying it's common for someone to wave off a punt and advance it unnoticed?

Could they review this one instead?

The Squakers dont believe that actually happened. That is all CGI to screw them over and the post game where Chryst said he knew about it and it was the correct call was just good acting.

Come on you know everyone, especially the Refs and the B1G and NCAA have it out for TOE and they purposely call rules correctly to screw the Hoks, it would only be fair to call the rules in a way to benefit the Suckeyes, instead of how they are written.

Why cant you Hok haters get it.

Edit: Also any team that wears black owes Iowa a fee, because Iowa invented Black and is the only team to wear it, and Iowa has to give permission to anyone in the world that ever wants to use it.

Again, the drive chart includes penalty yards -- which are not offense.

The -18 was -8 offense and -10 penalty.

So, like I said before: 12 yards of offense and 10 yards of penalty.
Isnt there a stat for net yards vs offense yards. Might be what some are also using. I thought the net yards included everything, but I am not positive.

ie, drive gains 12 yards but has 10 penalty yards = 2 net yards.

Game team had 200 yards offense and 40 penalty yards = 160 net yards.

I swear I have seen it stated like that somewhere, just not sure where.

No. You're overthinking it.

It really is just as simple as people not understanding that drive chart yards don't necessarily equal total offense yards.

Correct. Iowa certainly doesn't get credited for 46 yards on their TD drive when they only gained 13 actual yards. The rest was penalty aided. Penalties are also why it possible to get more yards on offense during a drive than the actual length of the drive.

I see it much more frequently than those examples though. That type of return I 100% agree. Usually it's 3-5 yards
This makes absolutely no sense.

Good call if he went only three yards, but since he scored a touchdown it shouldn't have been called?

This is all going to work out well for Hok Fan narrative for the next year or more.

Bear with me a bit -

1) They will lose another game, probably kNU
2) Don't go to title game.
3) Would have gone to title game if not for 'the call'
4) Would have beaten whomever they faced in the title call if not for 'the call'

Alternately, they win out regular season and get demolished in title game by 30+ pts.

No one is better than Hok Fan at embracing an alternate reality like they have just been given.

They'd still blame the MN game because of the emotional baggage from the refs doing their jobs.

The irony is how many bad/non calls there are and how refs seem so incompetent but they were, being absolutely competent.

A favorite in this is a tweet from some Hok homer with a bunch of clips of players legit pointing at the ball or really not doing anything and saying it was a bunch of examples of wave offs not being acknowledged.

Let's all take a moment and congratulate Hawk fans on their first ever kick in the nuts. After years of teams handing them games and fluky bounces going their way, it finally happened.
Oh please, Iowa fans have had their share of heartache over the years as any fan would, but this was an all time rug pull for sure even if it was technically the right call.

Time that Hawkeye fans wised up and figured out that Ferentzes are playing the Lucy to their Charlie Brown. You simply cannot expect Cooper to bail you out in every game, when the offense contributes absolutely nothing to the cause.

Minnesota is straight trash and the game shouldn't have even been close. Why was it?

I guess I don't consider heartache being the same as a kick in the nuts. I think of a kick in the nuts as those times where you think you have it and then it's ripped away. In this case by a legitimate call.
