F*CK IOWA

Short of winning that call was the best thing that could've happened for KF, because it gives him cover and allows him to distract everyone by talking about one call instead of about the fact that we had 125 total yards of offense, 11 yards of rushing, and 12 total yards of offense in the second half... against a very mediocre defense.

That's the real story with Saturday's loss.

Yep 100%. Great distraction for him and Brian.

Yeah, being frustrated is one thing, I get that, but the fact that it was 100% the correct call and Iowa fans are still complaining about it really blows my mind. At this point, their only argument is, "You shouldn't enforce a rule if it negatively impacts our team. The rules need to change for us."

It would be like us saying a couple years ago with the Iowa game, "Hey, it was our guy who ran into our punt returner and caused the fumble. Since it was our own guy who hit him, that shouldn't count as a fumble. "

And to top it off, if Iowa could have mustered anything that resembled an offense in the second half, this wouldn't even be talked about. Be pissed at your coaches, not the rule book.

WE GOT ******!!!

THAT'S A BULL **** RULE!!!

Redemption, so we can win 10 games and don't have to get our asses handed to us in Indianapolis???

Realization, Wisconsin and Minnesota still have Ohio St on the schedule.

@Clonefan94 amazing how some like you feel a need to repeat the obvious 35 pages into a thread that's only been about the obvious. For God's sake man just admit to yourself you're incapable of an original thought.

Seriously, where is the 12 yards in the second half coming from? I'm seeing people say it a bunch of times. It was two yards. Two. Is it because two yards is so unbelievable that people think it couldn't possibly be true?

Because people are reading the drive chart, not realizing that penalty yards are included in it.

It was 12 yards of offense.

9 rushes for -8 yds.
15 pass attempts for 20 yds.

OK, I'm incapable of an original thought.

Thanks for setting me straight. I post so often, and such useless **** on this site, I'm glad someone finally pointed it out to me. I mean everyone else's posts here are so thought provoking and deep, I'm glad you finally found me out and made an example of me. I mean, without me, I'm sure this thread would have ended Saturday night. Thanks.

Two yards in the 3rd quarter.

Just looked at the drive chart on the B1G website and if you add up all the yards in every second half drive you get two yards. Maybe there's some discrepancy because of the way penalty yards count or something.

Penalty yards are part of the drive, but not counted against the offense.

12 yards of offense
10 yards of penalty

Couldn't agree more. I said the same thing as soon as the game ended.

You don't think 12 yards of offense in the 2nd half is unbelievable enough?
I would have taken 12 yards on that last drive to give our kicker a shot at a 59 yard FG, but the offense couldn't even deliver that. Instead they went sack for -7 yards, incompletion and INT. After the punt return got called back, there wasn't a single fan that had any hope we would win. Whereas, most fans for other teams would have loved to have been in that spot at midfield, only needing a FG, two timeouts and 1:30 left. As a matter of fact, I bet most teams in Iowa's situation would win that game more than they lost.

This is true. A confident team would say, that sucks that our TD got called back but we've got them on their heels. A team lacking confidence says there goes our opportunity for the win.

See Campbell at the Liberty Bowl saying, "I hope this call goes against us so we have an opportunity to prove who we are in front of the entire country."

Truth be told I thought as soon as minnesota's punt team went out there that Iowa had that game won. Iowa has been extremely lucky to have so many improbable things bounce their way, that even with their garbage offense this seemed pretty probable.

Most likely all the other top 25 teams would have. Fake ID.
