F*CK IOWA

I agree with you, just tough to stomach and ISU fans would be crying all over the internet like Iowa fans are if it happened to them in this fashion as well. Enjoy the tears.
I understand you being frustrated. If I was an Iowa fan frustration would be my default. The fact you come here to argue it, moves the needle to dumbass.

Iowa fans are saying that the ruling was a bad call, but acknowledge it was the correct call.

How can it be a bad call but still a correct call?

Talking out of both ends.
I think because of the subjectivity a rule like this has and just the amount of actual rules in football. There's much more than what we think. Many like this are just rarely called. I guess it's preference some want reviews for everything and number 1 goal is getting the right call no matter what I get that aspect to some degree. As a fan of sports if I'm watching a neutral game I like less reviews personally and don't think everything needs to be slowed down and analyzed.

Note the difference hok fans:

One coach acknowledged facts, accepted reality. He didn't gaslight and lie, blame others, or shamelessly defend a fragile wounded ego.

The other coach is Kirk Ferentz.

Which one still has a job? Say what you will, but there's a method to the madness. He's still cashing checks and has the entire AD, media, and fanbase in the palm of his hand.

Solid coach. MASTER manipulator.

What if the officials hadn’t called this correctly and Minnesota got absolutely hosed on a missed call?

Would Iowa fans be happy about winning like that? Knowing that they hadn’t truly ‘won’ the game? Of course they would. Iowa doesn’t care if they win honestly…. just win.

The call was 100% correct. Every single official that has been asked says it was correct. But you still have Iowa fans and media/journalists acting like it was a horrible call and shouldn’t have been made. They cannot get themselves to admit they lost fair and square.
I honestly don't think 1 important person would of thought of it that way. None of the Minnesota staff did anyway.

Theres nothing really subjective here. Its pretty clear. Wave your arms, dead ball. Thats why theyre stupidly trying to gaslight fans into "he just runs that way"

What's too much waving though? I mean we see punt returners wave at a grounded balls weekly and return them. Are those not enough waving or just missed calls? Granted they never or rarely go for tds. Minnesota or at least majority didn't seem to think it constituted as enough waving. The Refs initially also. I think it is subjective or minimum the rules not being applied consistently

At least Iowa State fans don’t throw objects onto the field. And yes… we are enjoying the “tears”. Iowa fans finally get a small taste of what ISU goes through on a regular basis. Too bad Iowa couldn’t gain 20 yards after that call to get into field goal range to win the game.

I remember the “taunting” call against X. It was far worse than this call. Yet Iowa State responded by still scoring a touchdown.

Iowa fans can cry all they want. The correct call was made for that play. Iowa still had a chance to win, but failed. Iowa only had 12 yards of offense the entire second half. Iowa lost, for many reasons other than one call by the officials that was actually correct
I can't figure out where this narrative keeps coming from. It's 100% false and misleading.

Iowa gained 2 yards in the 2nd half. Put some disrespec on it.

When people do that they aren't returning it so it doesn't matter. This is a rare case where the person did return it so the rule gets applied. A few other examples of this happening have been posted in a couple of these threads.

F*CK off. There was still ample time and ample opportunity to win. I’ve been told countless times that 1 call doesn’t decide a game. Grow up and deal with some adversity. Iowa lost because their offense is a negative factor in every outcome.

I just saw this play out in North Carolina game this weekend. It wasn't a td but same play. I've seen guys wave and field balls numerous times I think all football fans have

That's fair just shows inconsistency of rule is what it proves. WHen it's inconsistent and rules are applied loosely that's when any fan base gets upset even when rules correct.
I mean in the history of every sport you could find a situation where every rule was applied inconsistently. Again though, this rule is pretty black and white this wasn't a judgement PI or a horrible spot or something.

Yeah, being frustrated is one thing, I get that, but the fact that it was 100% the correct call and Iowa fans are still complaining about it really blows my mind. At this point, their only argument is, "You shouldn't enforce a rule if it negatively impacts our team. The rules need to change for us."

It would be like us saying a couple years ago with the Iowa game, "Hey, it was our guy who ran into our punt returner and caused the fumble. Since it was our own guy who hit him, that shouldn't count as a fumble. "

And to top it off, if Iowa could have mustered anything that resembled an offense in the second half, this wouldn't even be talked about. Be pissed at your coaches, not the rule book.
