*** Official IOWA STATE vs Cincinnati Game(Day) Thread ***

I will call ******** on this. Go find these supposed posts. I said we've beat some bad teams. I said Bowman was a terrible QB. But I haven't said "this is easily the worst team we've played".

They are and it's probably not close. But it's a road conference win and we can't co trol the quality of the opponent. To not even play that well (QB had time to throw, LBs missed some tackles, and Oline was crap yet afai ) and smash a team on the road speaks volumes to their quality
My bad if that wasn't you. I know I've seen that after OSU and TCU wins. I lumped you in with the other negative fans. I don't remember users, except a select few... Go Cyclones!

Yeah, they've fallen hard. They have very little brightside right now.

Dude. Their QB couldn't throw, even when they had open receivers. We didn't get a lot of pressure. Really their only offensive play was the QB option read or scrambles. But once we started to spy hin a lot harder lot of those plays dried up.

The online wasn't much better than they have been. Rocco didn't play his best but he balled when he needed to (rollout throw to Higgins was one of the best offensive plays we've made all year). The LBs struggled, and we committed some penalties in the secondary. Really Higgins, who was a ******* monster, was the only thing we did exceptionally outside of special teams (which were fantastic). Yet this game wasn't even close.

Minus some massive improvement I could easily see Cinci going winless the rest of the way. They are bad. REALLY bad.

Crappy? I thoroughly enjoyed that broadcast. Knowledgeable announcers that got excited at the right times. Would take those 2 guys any time.
Agreed, loved the comments made. But think she was talking about the actual broadcast that had glitches all day.

Baylor
Kansas
BYU
Texas
K-State

We can squeeze a few more wins out of that bunch don’t ya think?
Baylor is big time bad on OL and DL. Coming off a bye week, Cyclones should be in great shape going into Waco.
Kansas: What is the deal with Jaylon Daniels' back? Even with him, they are definitely beatable at Jack Trice, also their defense is "meh".
BYU: They are not good defensively, 99th in opponent rushing YPC and 95th in opponent passing completion %. Offensively, they only average 4.7 yards per play, good for 112th in the nation. Cincy statistically dominated them at BYU and would have won were it not for untimely turnovers.
Texas: They are legitimately talented, but they have also struggled in late season games in Ames in recent years. If they roll into Ames in mid-November, the Cyclones are good and the weather is bad, who knows what could happen.
SnyderKats: What's happened to Will Howard? W/o Deuce Vaughn and Malik Knowles around him, he's seemingly regressed to 2021 Will Howard. Defensively they are serviceable at best and prone to give up a lot of passing yards. Even for a road game, this does not scare me at all.

Given how the Cyclones are playing in all three phases of the game right now, I'd say there's at least 2 more wins on that schedule and I don't think 3 is out of the question.

Good road win. Always good winning in the road, including beating teams you’re supposed to beat.

Now? Win the next 3.

No BS excuses.

We’re not young anymore. No one gives a **** about the gambling deal. Beat the teams you’re supposed to beat (and yes, that includes freaking Kansas).

Ohio loss is still bad, but important not to let it happen again.

The goal/expectation better be 4. Anything less is loser mentality.

We are back and it’s freaking awesome!

I was joking earlier in the week when I said in a thread that ISU controls their own destiny for the Big12 championship game. But, after what I saw today and if the weather could help out against Texas, maybe?

I thought this was a good win for both the team and the fans. Playing in a new venue and facing inclement weather can make for a real challenge, but Campbell and the Clones went into the breach with aplomb, and put forth an excellent effort.

Of course there is a bit of room for improvement on both sides of the ball, but it seems as though they have a solid sense of what is working, and the collective confidence is growing. It is also great to see the special teams making a positive impact.

Overall, an enjoyable entertainment experience. Highly recommended.

KU is down 14 early at Okie State, and they are getting dominated

ISU had 364 total yards, rushed for 123 on 38 carries, no turnovers, 3/3 on field goals and had 110 yards on kickoffs. Yes, the QB from Cincinnati missed a couple of throws, one with a guy wide open which would have been a sure TD. But after the 1st quarter, the ISU defense totally shut them down.

Lets enjoy this win and the week off, how many on here would have thought we would be 3-1 at the bye week after the Ohio game? The correct answer would be no one.
