All I said is they don’t work as hard as they think they do, especially when compared to other jobs. I never said it was “cushy”. You decided to spin it differently.

What do you define as hard work?
 
Cyhig reminds me of the kiss ass corporate employees I've been around in the past.

They think that if you aren't kissing the bosses ass, doing everything he asks, volunteering to to do more than he asks, staying late (to try to show off for the boss) and being Mr. Company then you are some slacker worthless employee.

Fact is most bosses can see through you and are using you because they know they can. Meanwhile I'm sitting over here minding my own business getting my work done at a high quality and the boss sees that too. And it pisses you off when the non-kiss ass gets rewarded because you think you are being ripped off despite being the company kiss ass.
 
And comments on pay and time off but ok.


On topic, what is your opinion on the WF employees considering organizing a union in response to the RTO? Aside from the fact that you personally wouldn't want to be in a union?
I think I have made my point quite clear. It’s likely being pushed by WF employees who only do adequate to sub par work compared to their peers. Workers that provide exceptional service likely don’t want to unionize. If they do unionize, the quality of work from those employees will drop (they don’t have any incentive) and the quality of work from the others will stay the same. Thus, the overall quality of work from WF employees will drop

Which brings us back to the general thought that the typical 9-5 sit in your cubicle gig doesn't mean you'll be any more productive than someone who just needs to get the job done by Friday any old way it works out for them within certain general parameters.

Can you expand on this objectively or just gonna stick to generalities?

I've known people that do all sorts of hard work for their jobs in the private and public sector that still totally sucked at their jobs.

Trust me, there are plenty of cubicle workers who just work 9-5 and put forth just adequate effort. Do you know what happens? They get minimal pay raises, they don’t get promoted, and their career is stagnant.

Not sure it would be any more likely than it to be by those workers who are doing quality work and seeing only the company benefit from that. A union just offers leverage that no individual employee can have, regardless of whether they are a high performer.

Bold to assume the quality of WF work can actually go down.

Not sure it would be any more likely than it to be by those workers who are doing quality work and seeing only the company benefit from that. A union just offers leverage that no individual employee can have, regardless of whether they are a high performer.
A union offers leverage to negotiate pay rates fixed for all its workers. The rate is usually based on years experience, certifications, job tasks. It doesn’t take into account quality of work.
