Offensively Iowa is screwed as far as the portal goes moving forward. They brought in three higher profile type kids and Iowa's offense has broke them. They won't get a sniff moving forward.

Only way that happens is with a new coach and a proven new style/system in place. Without that, you're right, they're not going to get anyone good. TE's, sure, they're always going to get those guys, but I would place a bet right now that we'll see another mass exodus of WRs leave this year, as well as 1-2 RBs.

The swarm guy has to be pissed too lol
Blew a bunch of money on these guys to get them to come to Iowa.
Then flew the QB and WRs out to California to train. That probably wasn't crazy expensive but probably ~$20K

Then you get to watch this offense as your reward lol

Lol Cade is eating some serious crow right now.... He was chirping all off season and hok fans bought into it hook, line, and sinker. Healthy or not I really don't think he's a very good QB.
He will "I told you so" after Iowa plays the likes of Mich State, Northwestern, Purdue, etc., you know, the world beaters of the Big10.

Logically correct, but what do the next guys in the portal know that the three you’re referring to didn’t?

Just going off of what the Swarm guy said about how much they pay players is all. If he is telling the truth and I have no idea if he is, then it is way below what is being reported. But again, that doesn't include money that can be made outside of Swarm either. Point being, no one will ever really know except Cade and maybe the IRS.

Funny to quickly see the narrative change on Cade's NIL package

This is unprecedented territory for Kirk and Iowa. They have never really went the transfer route but they threw the kitchen sink at it this year. There were now comparable data points. Now there are. Teams won't even have to out bid Iowa to kid transfers because they screwed this up so badly.

Bingo! Cade will still have the last word here folks.

Iowa is 3-1, and don’t have a single tough game on their schedule outside of maybe Wisky, who is down this year however.

Iowa will likely win 10 games, 9 at worst. I don’t understand why everyone is freaking out? KF and Cade will still have the last laugh….. even though Iowa isn’t very good at all.

No but we're seeing that development can take place after college with someone like Purdy so I'm not putting weight on the college career.

Deebo Samuel is just one example of someone who didn't light the world on fire at South Carolina but has turned into a very good NFL player.
Purdy's advantage was just the opposite. It's that he was allowed to develop for four years in college. It was his college career that prepared him to start right away.

Also, Cade McNamara is damaged goods. He isn't developing anywhere. He was brought in to be an instant upgrade. He probably made the right decision taking 600k from Iowa. He's not making any NFL roster.

Can't put too much blame on Cade because he's in a horrible situation, but I refuse to believe there was any way he was getting "recruited" by Alabama last year when he put his name into the portal.
Alabama was clearly in trouble at QB. They brought in Buchner from ND, and he's not a P5 QB.

Because Iowa is a national laughingstock regardless if they win 9 games

Iowa's season will come down to winning 1 score games. Some seasons you go 4-1, others 1-4.

I agree that Penn State was by far Iowa's best opponent. So the schedule is easier. But they will play schools like Minnesota, Nebraska and Rutgers that will be similar teams- solid defenses and limited offense. Purdue and Wisky will challenge Iowa's defense with their passing games. So other than MSU and NW- don't feel they have any gimmes on their schedule.

Sure Iowa could end up a 9 or 10 win team, but I also feel they could end up 6-6 if they loose their mojo with a couple losses in the next 4 games.

If a guy projects as a UDFA at QB in the NFL, he's smart to just go to the school with the highest NIL bid, because nothing is guaranteed anyway. You could throw for 0 yards at Iowa and still get a camp invite. and the USFL/XFL path put more than a dozen guys into the league this year. I think McNamara did the logical thing going there and getting coin while he could.

No one knows how much Cade got paid except hopefully the IRS. I know Swarm probably didn't pay him close to anything to what has been reported, but I'm sure he has made a lot from other avenues as well. Guess we will never know the true figures of these things.
So you don't think the going rate for a CFP QB is at least 600K? because I can tell you, it's usually a lot more than that.
