Suzuki has to catch that but like the Gonzalez error in ‘03, what’s going to be forgotten about is Smyly and Assad walking 3 of the Braves last 4 runs on base.

This may all be for the best. I’m ready to quit watching these bums for a while.
I’ll survive missing the playoffs if it makes the FO more hungry to see how close we were with so many pieces missing

But I worry what a play like that does to Suzuki mentally for the long term.

And the manager willingly taking the best outfielder in baseball out because he bunted with the hottest hitter in the lineup to move a 36 year old catcher up a base.

All to have his replacement strike out on 3 pitches. Ross is worthless

Agreed but you have to tread lightly and try to nibble the corners when everyone in their lineup averages about 25 homers this year.

I've honestly never seen such an egregious error on a fly ball....at any level above little league. It was that bad, Suzuki. Just let Bellinger take it, and get the hell out of the way.

My initial thought too was let the center fielder take it too but either one it should have been a 99.9999% play

This game is rife with so many terrible managerial decisions, it makes me want to fire Ross tonight. Obviously if the players execute, it doesn’t matter, but having to win in spite of your manager’s weird/terrible decisions isn’t a recipe for success.

He shouldn’t be making the game harder to win.

Yeah pretty unreal. He missed that ball by a foot.

That sac bunt may have been the worst managerial move in the history of baseball.
MasterBoney was able to steal 2nd which kind of negated it, but agreed, that was pure stupidity to call that in the first place.

When guys are locked in a zone like he has been they are chomping at the bit to get in the batters box and Ross goes ahead and takes the bat right out of his hands.
