I've wanted one since I was a kid. - It is 100% a toy car though. ZERO room for any cargo. The biggest complaint that Chrysler received was that it couldn't even hold a set of golf clubs.

Chrysler's response:

I was at a Chrysler dealership when they came out. Almost impossible to get one and they were going for 40k over sticker when they did.

Was at ISF this year and there was an elec Hummer there. I checked it out and sure it looked neat but impractical for most.
GM rep told me if you're on the waiting list, you can sell that same day and make $50k right now.

I guess I don't understand that, why would the dealership sell it 50k light then?

Apparently the demand is there for people to flip them right away.
I've never ordered a vehicle so I don't know about "rules" with having to keep an order if someone has a down-payment/paid for it.

In high school an old 1966 Pontiac 2+2 convertible with a 421 tri power and 4 speed. Never did get one.

When I was young adult and struggling my dream car was a clean old VW Rabbit diesel. Found one for about $500. That thing had a 10 gallon tank, and I could go from DSM to KC and back on a tank of fuel. Would get 50+ mpg on the interstate. The trip was less than $20. The ride was like a tin can being hit by a hammer and felt like you had to get out and push on the hills but what a cheap ride.

When I was little older and not struggling so much my dream car was a BMW ZM. A little Z4 with the M motor. Had one for about 3 years. Would go 0-60 in just over 4 seconds which I thought was great for a little 6 cylinder, and would get almost 30 mpg on the highway.

Now.......something that won't break down all the time and when it does.....not impossible to work on.

If you order one, the price and everything is agreed upon already. That would make sense. Otherwise if the market is that hot, the dealer will add the 50k to the MSRP as their price and take the profit themselves.

It would be a wonderful time to sell them then. Taking in 14k or so a vehicle would be nice.

Totally agree, my brother a couple years older had a 71 Chevelle, 454, Hurst shift kit, would fly down the road, a couple of times he took it up to Eddyville to drag race.
Great car to tool around the square in Centerville, or back and forth the 10 miles to school, but if drove 50 to 100 miles, you tended to get car sick from all the pumping and charring around, and God forbid if you were in the back seat.
If you were in the back seat, the car was not moving side to side...;)
