2023 CyHawk

It'll be interesting to see what the B1G does with scheduling with ORWA addition. The previously announced scheduling system had every team playing every other team in the conference 2 times every 4 seasons. I'm guessing they'll want something that stays close to that so we may be losing some of our protected rivalries, which I'm on board with. If so, we'll be catching some combination of tOSU, Michigan, USC, PSU, Oregon every season. Obviously much harder but I'm looking forward to it.

Look for Iowa's schedule to be a heavy dose of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, UCLA and Rutgers.

That’s stupid af if anybody actually said that. That never even occurred to me.

Not the actual game but Iowa’s AD calling every Big 12 program about the locker room theft when the criminal was an Iowa student is another high
bar of crying.

Don't forget the Iowa band members getting raped by an angry mob of ISU fans.

Thanks! Seemed like a KF style of win. Downing Punta at the one, good punt returns, intercepting passes, long FGs and QB sneaks. Felt like I was watching Iowa highlights.
If you have Hulu, you can watch the game replays of both teams

Iowa's home schedule for Iowa season ticket buyers....

Utah State
Western Michigan
Michigan State
Purdue
Minnesota
Rutgers
Illinois
Seriously!??? I had no idea. So, out of 7 home games, their toughest opponent could be the Goofers? Who barely squeaked by a pitiful offense and turnover-prone Nebraska? But hey, let's admit, it's fun to win no matter who you play, so they will have that at least 6 or 7 times. Maybe with 16 teams we will start to get schedules like that on occasion. I guess then we can see how we like it.

Are Iowa fans concerned at all about McNamara's health? Feels like they're burying their head in the sand. He stumbled in the exact same way as when he injured the quad. He took multiple sacks when it was clear he couldn't scramble. He threw fading away instead of rolling. I would not be surprised to see him out of the game at some point next week. He does have a pretty good arm. He's accurate on the short stuff and will at least give his WR a chance down the field, but he's vulnerable, and I don't see Iowa fans really talking about it.
I don’t know an Iowa fan who’s not concerned about his health lol. There’s a large drop off from QB1 to QB2. He actually only got sacked once, and the pass pro was actually the one positive from the O line Saturday. But yes, there’s concern about his mobility being limited and his availability.

He got sacked once by the DL of the sisters of the poor. How do you think they fair against ISU’s world beaters up front?

That’s a great question. Only have to wait six days to find out! I didn’t get to see hardly any of the ISU/UNI game though so I’m hoping to catch a rewatch later in the week if time allows.

Your offense still sucks.

It appears that it might. It appears that ISU’s might as well.
This is a legitimate point. However, ISU didn’t go all out in the NIL/transfer portal to buy their offense. At this point it’s more concerning that Iowas is bad wouldn’t you say?

Doesn't look like Iowa is being replayed on btn all week? Was it really that awful to watch?

I was happy with the passing attack for game one. Not at all happy with the run game. I got the feeling they were trying to force the running game to prove they could impose their will (they should have been able to) even with a stacked box. They’re just no where near good enough on the line to do that.

I suspect both teams were pretty conservative in game one. But I still am highly skeptical of the O line.

No it won't. Illinois or Mich St maybe. Ohio St Mich and USC will come to Kinnick once every 10 years.
The new scheduling system they announced before adding UW and UO had every team playing every other B1G team 2 times every 4 years. Obviously they'll need to revisit but I'm sure they're going to try sticking as close to that as possible. So, yes, Iowa will be playing tOSU, Mich, USC, Oregon, PSU, every other season or something very close to that. Sorry.

With 18. If they one protected and 8 alternating it could work. But Iowa had already begged to have 3 protected crappy teams. Maybe Wi will come back and Iowa will ask for NW then.
